We had a one night stay at the Hopping Hare and meal in the restaurant. The staff were all very friendly, the meal was a 2 course special for £19.95 which was amazing, the lamb was to die for!! well done to the chef!
The room was very nice, clean but small with a very nice bathroom. Overall I would recommend this place if you are ever in the area.

Booked a 1 night stay with restaurant reservation.
Fantastic clean and well presented hotel, rooms were spotless and modern
Bar was very spacious [but a little expensive] the food in the restaurant was cooked to perfection must have one of the most talented chefs in the area.
Staff were amazing nothing was to much trouble and they always made you feel appreciated and most welcome, time to chat even though they were a little busy the staff moved to where they could see customers waiting for service.

Room tip: Room 10 is in the eves of the building fantstic spacious room with 2 windows 1 side is a little noisy when the kitchen is working

Dear Michael,

Many thanks for your kind review and for awarding the team top marks, very much appreciated by us all.

We do indeed have very highly skilled, trained and experienced chefs and we are the only restaurant in Northampton to have 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence. Grant, Head Chef, was classically trained at the Pru Leith college in Pretoria, SA.

The team is 100% committed to delivering excellent customer service and we have recently been inducted into the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame for consistently, over many years ,being awarded with Certificates of Excellence.

We look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind regards, David.

We’ve driven past several times and thought nothing of it as it appears to be on a housing estate but we recently moved into the new house and I suggested we try it out for lunch

Well we were pleasantly surprised lovely welcome and excellent food

We’ll be returning

Our family of 8 from the US stayed here for 2 nights. We had set up a family reunion of sorts with the staff prior to arrival. The staff at this hotel was the best we encountered on our two week trip in the UK. They were very accommodating with our party of 20. The food was good. After dinner, we moved to a cozy lounge area and continued with bar service, coffees and visiting. It was a wonderful time for all.
The hotel is not large and the lobby is small, but lent itself to feeling very welcome. Reception was friendly and fast. Our rooms were spacious and baths were large enough. Sinks stand alone with not much space to put things around. Lighting could be a little better to “do” hair and makeup. The furniture and carpet appear somewhat tired. Beds were comfortable. I wish the rooms had AC.
The food in the restaurant was very good. The breakfasts were especially nice. This was our second stay at the Hopping Hare and close to our family living in the area. We would recommend it.

Stayed here for one night whilst attending the Althorpe Estate food festival, so the Hopping Hare was conveniently located to that glorious venue & event & only just a short, inexpensive taxi ride away.

The Staff were superbly friendly & welcoming, nothing was too much trouble & everyone was really accommodating, attentive & helpful; all round excellent service.

The bedrooms were absolutely spotless & immaculately clean, although the decor was slightly out-dated in colour-combinations & general style; it would definitely benefit from an refurbishment, nothing major, just redecoration & a spruce-up.

Breakfast was served in the bar & was plentiful with a great selection of cereals, yoghurts, juices & the cooked breakfast outstanding, with high-end quality locally sourced farm produce; although I wasn’t too impressed when the Cleaner thoughtlessly disturbed the Sunday morning peace & ambience by hoovering the bar area in & around the Guests.

Dear Navilluso,

Many thanks for your kind review and I am pleased that we delivered excellent service which is a top priority for us.

We have 2 AA Rosettes and outstanding quality food is our second key priority.

I am sorry for the disturbance on Sunday morning which should not have happened and this will be addressed.

Our Head Chef did a demonstration at the Althorp food festival, which you may have seen.

We look forward to seeing you again next year. Kind regards, David.
