“Amazing House and Great Place to Stay!”
Reviewed 15 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Ranters Chapel proved to be everything and more for a fantastic and memorable Easter break with our family. A really well appointed house, intriguingly spread over three floors meant plenty of space but cosy at the same time. This combination proved ideal for our three children who, revelling in the luxury of the appointment and modern decor of the accommodation, afforded ample opportunity for them to have their own space but, at the same, a great space for coming together for family games and conversation! The convenience of Ranters Chapel in terms of parking, shops and proximity to the centre of Hexham (a wonderful small town) and also as a base for exploring the coast and countryside of Northumberland would be difficult to surpass. A special mention of the owner (Jo Greig) whom although we did not meet personally, could not have been more helpful and friendly throughout the booking and post holiday correspondence (yes, my youngest son left his Kindle which Jo kindly recovered and posted back to Bristol - thank you!).

Beautiful cottage, immaculate condition with all the necessities and more. Brilliant location-literally round the corner from th high street. Ample parking. We had a little baby with us and she has a high chair and cot for us. Both good condition. Lovely host-gets back quickly and very helpful. The cake and prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch!

“Great house, perfekt location.”
Reviewed 15 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

Spent 4 weeks in this very nice house. Contained everything we needed. Very nicely decorated. Great bedrooms and bathrooms. Good kitchen with dining table. Situated 100 yards from the market and Abbey in Hexham. Very practical. 5 minutes walk from the station. Practical for trips to Newcastle. Hexham practical for trips in the area, coast and moors and more.
Pleasant welcome with wine, cake and flowers.
We can warmly recommend this house for a stay in Hexham.

“Great Hexham base”
Reviewed 17 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We recently stayed in Ranters Chapel for 10 days in September 2016. The house was as advertised and proved an excellent base to visit the local attractions. Comfortable house six adults (three couples) and is in the centre of Hexham which meant that shops, restaurants and supermarkets were all in easy walking distance as is the train station.

“Excellent Accommodation”
Reviewed 11 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Perfectly located cottage in the centre of Hexham with easy parking close by. Very quiet at night. Accommodation is very well presented and equipped. Immaculately cleaned and comfortable with thoughtful welcoming touches provided by the owner who kept in close e-mail communication throughout the reservation and confirmation process.
Hexham makes a great base for exploring the Tyne Valley, Northumberland and Durham, with the attractions of Newcastle/Gateshead also a short car or train journey away.
Highly recommended and will stay again on our next visit to the north east.

“Just as good second time around”
Reviewed 27 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Just back from our second stay at Ranters' Chapel. This house is equipped to a really high standard. At no point were we left looking for something - the owner had thought of everything. A welcome of homemade cake and a bottle of fizz always gets a weekend off to a great start.
Hexham is well placed for a day trip to Newcastle or Durham. This time we visited the latter. Park and Ride was definitely the best option to take removing the hassle of parking in the city. The NationalTrust property at Wallington Hall and gardens is well worth a visit. We were lucky enough to visit on an event day - Wallington at War - lots to see and do.
Ranters' Chapel has everything you'd need for self catering, but most of us want to eat out when we're on holiday. There are lots of good take away options as well as great restaurants. We selected Danielle's Bistro - a great choice -but you do need to book. We also ate at The Black Bull in Corbridge. We'd recommend both.
