we had a luch time meal with my inlaws before they went away for winter, the food was to say the least poor ( for there prices ) the service was easly the worst i have ever had...
Very rude staff will be sending a letter to owner and will never return again, my day was ruined.

We stayed at this b&b as a stopover to visit Chatsworth House. We stayed in a twin room with en-suite. Everything was so new and clean. The manager John was fantastic. He was great to chat to and have a laugh with, making us feel very welcome. We ate dinner in the pub and it was the best dinner we had on this trip. Again John was walking around making sure everything was okay, and it was....
At breakfast the next morning when we asked for drinks that were not on the menu, John was more than happy to make them. Nothing was too much trouble and this is what makes a stay a wonderful one.
Allowed to leave our car in the car park of the pub, we took a beautiful stroll to Chatsworth House, where we had a nice day and walk back to our car. Another chat to John and we were off.

Just returned after four nights with my husband and our two dogs. What can i say i had a great time. The rooms are situated above the pub and has a seperate entrance for the residents so you dont have to walk through the pub. The rooms are basic but very clean and confortable- alot better then i origanlly expected. The bathroom is small and there isnt alot of hot water but everyone else didnt seemed to have that problem. The food was great and well worth staying for tea - had the best fish and chips. The whole family run the pub and BB and you can tell this by the fab atmosphere. Everyone made the dogs and us feel welcome and nothing seemed to be too much. There is a little court yard at the back of the pub where we spend most of the evening with the dogs - very lucky with the weather but if you wanted to be inside then it was no problem.
Most big walks are only 5 - 10 minutes away by car but there are some walking distance from the pub. It was lovely to stay in such a lovely little place. There might only be three reviews but whilst there i noticed a note book with hundards of positive comments. Can not wait to return...

Devonshire Arms is right outside Chatsworth, which a friend and I were visiting for the week, so it was a perfect location for that or anyone with a car visiting the Peak District. The place has recently been refurbed so the rooms are clean and easy on the eye, the bed was far better to mine and there was no noise. Coming from the city, it was eerily silent. Breakfast was terrific and the guys working there were great, really welcoming and helpful. For a simple accommodation base, you can't go wrong.

We stayed for 4 nights using the Devonshire Arms as our base to explore and walk in the Devonshire Peaks and Dales. Being centrally located in White Peak it was an ideal choice. Whilst it would be easy to be critical of certain aspects of our stay, overall it was very good value for money, the room was clean and adequate, the evening meals good, the breakfasts very good and the staff very friendly. We would stay again.
