We stayed at Coach House 1 in July for a hen do for a long weekend which was booked through Hen Heaven. Described on their website as luxury accommodation which definitely isn't the case. Standard at best. Several parts of the house could have done with a proper clean, stains on walls and carpets and damage to several things when we arrived (loose plug fitting in kitchen/ broken stair spoke/ broken toilet seat/ very temperamental sliding door to upstairs toilet to name just a few). Our feet were literally black with dirt too from walking around so a mop being put around wouldn't have gone amiss.
We were a party of 11 in a place that can accommodate 12 people but not enough bedding was left for everyone. Luckily the heat meant some of us could spare duvets and just used the covers as sheets.
We also found the shower arrangements quite odd.... the "big" shower was in the open plan living room/ kitchen in what would have normally been a pantry or storage cupboard.
There was a lack of any kind of storage too. It would have been nice to have a few drawers or even bedside tables to put our things in. We all lived out of our suitcases for the three nights we were there. Would have been nice to have more than just a couple of coat hangers and a door hook to put things away on.
The lounge area did have large table and bench to fit everyone but not really enough room for everyone (or even half of us) to comfortably lounge around which would have been nice for our final night when we just chilled out in the house. Only one corner sofa so only really room for 4 to seat comfily. The kitchen area was also very small. You couldn't really have more than two in there at once which wasn't really ideal for a house where 12 can stay.
Overall these things did not really affect our stay, we still had a fab time but I definitely wouldn't describe this as luxury accommodation. Definitely more thought could have been put into it. I wouldn't stay here again and would not recommend it for a party the size of ours.
Stayed here as part of a group of 10 for a hen weekend. The house is awesome. Very clean and THE comfiest beds and pillows ever. The location is great, 10 minute walk to the city centre, although we got a taxi from the centre to the house and it only cost £4.
I can't think of any way the house could be improved!
Brilliant, top quality place to stay. Clean, big and ideal location. Provided towels, cups and cutlery.
