Review of Masala Junction

Masala Junction
Ranked #6 of 1,481 Restaurants in Nottingham
Certificate of Excellence
Description: Masala Junction - relaxed and refined Indian fine dining brasserie restaurant based in Mapperley Park, Nottingham, located only 1 mile out of town. Masala Junction is the Aziz family's third restaurant, and the culmination of everything we’ve learnt over the past 25 years, both in terms of food and service. We’ve created a relaxed and refined dining experience to reflect our love of honest Indian home cooking. Advised by Saurav Nath, previously chef at Michelin starred Benares Restaurant in London, we’ve added personality and flair to our menu with dishes that you will both recognise and new and interesting dishes that we hope you will enjoy. Our wine list, crafted by one of only 230 Master Sommeliers worldwide is unique and reflects careful and ideal pairing with the style of food at Masala Junction.

Went with my partner after a friend recommended and we weren't disappointed. All the food was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. Has been open for over two years and the high standards have been maintained.
Highly recommend.

Extremely friendly, welcoming staff and refined decoration and feel but most importantly delicious food options. Many options including meat, vegetarian and vegan choices. Would strongly recommend!

As huge lovers of Indian cuisine and seeing this restaurant win the 2018 ‘Nottingham Bar and restaurant awards’ for Indian food, we felt we had to try Masala Junction and I’m so glad we did!!

Whilst looking at the menu online I saw the restaurant was owned by the Aziz family so I knew we were already onto a winner.

The restaurant is located in Carrington in the former NatWest bank and has been beautifully renovated to what is now a lovely contemporary fine dining restaurant.

When we entered the restaurant we were greeted like old friends and the service was impeccable the whole evening. We were particularly looked after by Naj, Israr and Saqib who made our visit even more special.

The food? Well where to begin, it was exquisitely presented and the taste was nothing short of incredible. The menu includes lots of the usual favourites you’d expect to see on an Indian menu but also lots of unique dishes. We had the Broccoli and Paneer Tikka starter which was absolutely divine (we’d definitely have this again), and the Dum Aloo and Mushroom Hara Pyaz from the main menu deserve a particular mention. Both were delicious and full of flavour.

Without doubt we’ll be back and this restaurant will be added to our list of favourites. Our only disappointment was not coming sooner.

Really good curry! I’d particularly go back for the fish/seafood options. There’s something rather satisfying about going to a city you don’t know to visit a student and finding an Indian restaurant to take them to that they admit is better than the ones they’ve tried in the past two years!!
