We had a night here that totally exceeded our expectations - lovely room, very clean and a really delicious breakfast (homemade muesli was a treat). Sally was so friendly and informative, wewouldn't hesitate to come back.

I stayed at Thorpe House last night. What a lovely place. Sally, the owner, was very friendly. An inviting and comfortable room, and on a quiet road. I slept like a log! Breakfast was good too. I wanted to stay somewhere close to Nottingham City hospital and this fitted the bill - great value. I would definitely stay again.

Just stayed in this lovely B&B for three nights. It was excellent! Sally was the perfect hostess and I particularly enjoyed the delicious breakfast served on pretty vintage china in my room every morning, the room decor and level of comfort was just right. I was attending a course in the middle of the city and to save driving in every day I was able to catch the bus just five minutes walk down the road (fare was £1.70 single) The area is very quiet and peaceful which meant a good night's sleep was a bonus. Well done Sally, I will be back!!

Great place, a hidden jewel off the beaten track in a lovely village. Friendly hosts who we found very helpfull and full of vitality. Given good local advice and information which came in handy. Clean and tidy just the way a good b and b should be.

My wife and I spent two nights at Thorpe House while visiting the City Hospital, a pleasant 20 minutes walk away. Our host was very welcoming, our room, Arlington, was delightful and with a very good breakfast served in the comfort of our room added up to an experience we heartily recommend to anyone requiring good accommodation in a very pleasant part of Nottingham.
The library of DVD's for use by the guests is a nice touch and we are now trying to find similar china as that served at breakfast.

In August, I stayed here twice. The first was for three nights, the second, a few days later, for one night because of how good the first visit was. I chose Thorpe House because of its previous ratings on Trip Advisor, and also because of two B&Bs that I emailed, Sally was the only one that answered, and she did so very quickly.

When I asked about availability for a single room, all the rooms were booked for one of the nights, but I was invited to stay in an attic room, at a reduced rate. Although, the attic has many quirks, particularly the low ceilings the extra stairs and the private but not ensuite bathroom, it was still a great choice.

The first day and night just happened to be the hottest night of the year, probably for many years, given England's normal "summer" weather, but not to worry, I was offered a large fan which helped, but really the three skylight that opened to the world were more than good enough to provide the freshness that was necessary.

The room, despite not being used all the time, I imagine, was just as good as the normal rooms, which in other words means immaculate.

Breakfast here is brought to your room as there isn't a common area. You choose from a menu the night before and Sally brings it right to you. The choice is extensive and is all of top quality. The one thing you should definitely know is that there is no ground floor room at the moment. Sally said that she is hoping to make changes to her private living arrangements in the next year so that she can rectify that.

So all in all, I have nothing but praise for the whole B&B. It easily beats the Premier Inn just up the road for value (and there was nothing particularly wrong with it either). I forgot to mention the grounds behind the house, through which you have to walk to get to the B&B rooms. They are wonderful, complete with fishpond and are available for breakfast if you prefer that to your room (and the wather co-operates!).

In summary, please stay here. It is great value. It's convenient. It's friendly
