Stayed overnight prior to a graduation at Nottingham Uni which is about 4 miles away. Our family took all 3 rooms.
Located in a quiet road in a leafy suburb of city.Rooms are spacious and well decorated with beautiful soft furnishings. Beds are comfy and towels soft. All rooms have tea making facilities,TV & Wi-fi.
Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice for all tastes served on lovely china tea service - very traditional English home. Food was hot, tasty and extra toast if you wanted it. You can choose to have breakfast in your room or in the garden, unfortunately it rained just prior so we ate inside but all together which was a perfect start to the day.
Will definitely return if visiting Nottingham.

I stayed with a friend at Thorpe House for a long weekend. Sally the owner, made us feel very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were excellent and spotlessly clean and each morning our breakfast arrived on the most beautiful china, which we ate in the room. The breakfasts were excellent too, everything was cooked fresh and there was an excellent choice from the menu. Thorpe House has a beautiful garden and it was very quiet and peaceful there. It is only 3 miles away from the centre of Nottingham and is in a lovely location off the Mansfield Road. The bus service to and from Nottingham was ideal, as the buses were very frequent.

Our B&B experiences are limited, so we were careful to check out the reviews before we decided to stay at Thorpe House for the weekend. Our research was rewarded - this is a fantastic place to stay in Nottingham. It's located on a quiet street with other Edwardian homes - but close to everything. We had two rooms (one for my wife & I and one for our daughter) and were delightfully surprised by the wonderful decor and room amenities. And the beds in both rooms were extremely comfortable! Our room (the Emerson) also had a lovely view of the garden. The breakfast was superb - we had a delicious full English on beautifully presented China - complete with an egg cozy for my soft-boiled egg. A great experience and one we truly enjoyed & a memory we will treasure.

I thoroughly recommend this delightful B&B for a short break just out of the city. For a reasonable price, you get more comfort & space than you might get in a far more expensive hotel & the bed is not worn out.Everything is scrupulously clean & breakfast, which is delicious, is brought to your room at the time you request it. We had a beautiful view over the garden.
This is also a dog-friendly establishment & there are plenty of parks nearby for walking them in.

Room Tip: For the best view, choose Emerson, for the most space,Marmaduke.

We had a lovely stay at Thorpe House. We were looked after wonderfully - Sally was so very friendly and very helpful (especially so as my husband was laid up with a painful back episode!)
I would thoroughly recommend this beautiful residence in a quiet street but close to the city centre.
Delicious breakfast was served in our comfortable and well appointed room, with everything we could need at our fingertips :)

We have just spent two nights at this lovely b and b in Nottingham. It is outside of the city centre in a very nice quiet road boasting beautiful Edwardian houses. The buses into the city run every 10 minutes and the bus stop is a short walk away. This is an ideal situation because it is so quiet and peaceful and your car can be parked safely and without charge. We had room 3 (we think the Emerson Room) which was more of a suite with loads of storage and a nice view over the garden. The bed was comfortable and the toiletries offered of good quality. Breakfast is served in the room which at first seemed strange. But the quality of the food was first class and it was a delight to sit at the table and watch the goings on in the garden.

I would have scored this b and b an excellent except for a couple of slight niggles. We hated the drapery over the bed and could seem no rhyme or reason for it. The bedspread was looking a bit jaded. And we wished there was a bigger towel rail, or at the least a hook on the back of the door.

We would without a doubt stay here again when in Nottingham.

Recently had the good fortune of staying at this lovely and friendly accommodation while on business. Very well decorated and immaculately clean Arlington room, I would imagine the other rooms are also up to this great standard. I will be going back, hopefully in the next couple of weeks and have no hesitation in returning to this superb B&B. Thank you Sally and Chris for your lovely hospitality.
