Visiting Nottingham, I couldn't help myself notice the variety of restaurants in the area. Mexican, Italian, steak houses etc. We came across to a Greek one. So we decided to give it a go. This is a 2 floor restaurant with nice decor and splendid Greek music. You can listen from Melina Mercouri till Markos Vamvakaris. The atmosphere is cosy and warm. We ordered kleftiko (succulent Lamb shank, slowly cooked until tender) and sofrito (tender pieces of beef steak cooked in a garlic cream sauce) a traditional recipe of Kefallonia island) and pork souvlaki for the kids. Also had tirokafteri (spicy cheese dip made from cream cheese, feta cheese and chili), fried halloumi cheese, fried potatoes and a Greek salad! Kleftiko was amazing. Melted in your mouth! Sofrito was good but something was missing from the recipe to be honest. I would love to try it one more time. Pork souvlaki delicious, big portion, the kids loved it, halloumi was ok, tirokafteti was ok but still something was missing. Is it the cheese used for the dip? Probably. Greek salad very good. Finally the fried potatoes were also fine. The waiter and waitress were very Professional and with helpful attitude. We really loved it, definitely we will visit it again soon. Happy New Year to all!!
