We visited Gurkha Kitchen after seeing the reviews on Trip Advisor. I have to say, the appeal was mainly the intrigue of this out of town establishment that was getting rave reviews surpassing any restaurant in town! We chose a wet and windy Sunday to sample their buffet and although the exterior made us think twice about going in (made worse by the weather I think), the food more than made up for it!

For £9 you really can’t go wrong. Yes, the drinks were a bit expensive for out of town, but I was assured by my fellow beer drinkers that the large bottles of Gurkha beer were really quite good and a bit of a novelty, so in my opinion, worth the £4.50.

The buffet included a range of starters such as tikka chicken, pakoras and daal; and about 5 different curries of varying types. We were particularly impressed with the freshly baked naans, which you can order throughout your meal. Top tip is to share them and keep ordering at regular intervals so you can always have fresh naan on the table!! The tikka chicken was divine. Such a simple dish, but amazing flavours and moist meat.

The interior décor was actually quite nice, which was a relief after initial impressions outside. Our only issue was the toilets – sort them out Gurhka kitchen!!! PLEASE! Not quite enough to detract from our 5* rating though 

When i fancy something mildly spicy and don't want to head into nottm city centre, we head for Gurka Kitchen ,the staff are attentive and they will adapt your order to how spicy or garlicky you want the dish to be.Long may they stay in business,

Ate here on Mothers Day. Quite simply it's the best Sunday lunch buffet of its kind I've ever had, and I've had few. The food was excellent - tasty and fresh with ban breads made to orde - as was the service - the chef even came out of the kitchen for a chat to see if we were enjoying the food.

Despite the fact prices were increased for the day, it still offered great value for money.......which was made even better value when they didn't charge us for the 2 kids as they didn't eat a great deal.

Only knew this restaurant existed after googling Nottingham restaurants and picking up the tripadvisor chart listing. It's an unusual location, surrounded by a mix of industrial units and local authority housing, but don't let that put you off.
The food and service was excellant!
We requested the non-vegi meal for two from the take way menu, even though we were eating in the restsurant, which they duly obliged. As a takeway it would have been £24, and to eat the same dishes in the restaurant they only charged us aprox £7 more, which we felt was good value.
Could not fault the food or service.
The only slight niggle was that there was no draught bitter, only draught lagers and ciders. Not sure if this is the norm, or they were just out of it on this occasion.
