Car park not signposted well (up side street) but everything smoothed out by great receptionist, Nicola. I was on crutches and she made sure I had a lovely room with easy access and personally helped me with luggage - could not have been more charming.
Room was excellent - liked free water and biscuits. Windows did not open but air con worked well.
I was speaking at a Rotary business network and dinner was served to 42 people. The vegetarian option of onion tart was DREADFUL. It had been cooked (form frozen?) in a microwave - a soggy mess that they should have been ashamed to serve. I didn't complain because I didn't want to embarrass hosts.
Had great sleep. They had aromatherapy sprays - lovely touch. They also brought me complimentery toothpaste as I'd forgotten mine.
Breakfast was not good. Lukewarm coffee, vacuum packed cheese and no smoked salmon as promised - only a couple of dried up pieces of salami.
Check out was efficient and bellman, Jim, was charming and helpful. Car park charge of £12.00 was excessive considering cost of room.
Would go back again but would NOT eat in hotel.
