We booked on the day of staying and had a lovely room very clean and tidy the only issue was it was so hot, the windows didn't open and aircon was not working so we found the heat unbearable.

Lovely bar area to sit and relax. Bar staff were a bit slow they seemed to panic if there was more than 2 people waiting to be served.

Breakfast was lovely can not fault it. We also had a bar meal of fish and chips it was the best fish I have ever tasted the batter was so light and crispy and we still mention it a month later

We stayed for one night and were disappointed by with the standard of room for a 4 star hotel. The hotel is difficult to locate (even with a sat nav) and we had to do several circuits of Nottingham before we found the access to the car park!
The welcome was great - friendly helpful staff but the standard of the room was poor. The units were in poor condition and the overall all size of the room was very small. We moved a chair to gain access to the room fridge but too our dismay the armchair was holding up the wall mounted dressing table and the whole thing collapsed on the floor. ( It was a 3rd floor room) The staff were great and moved us to a forth floor room which was much better with modern furniture and room was generally in a better state but i was surprised in the variation in standard of room. We didnt have a chance to use the facilites or have breakfast.

You will be pleased to read that we will very soon be starting on our next round of capital refurbishment on the bedrooms. It has the best location in Nottingham located near the sights and some good shopping. The room was on the small side but was very comfortable. I enjoyed it so much I extended my stay by three days. There were some cleanliness issues and the breakfast was just OK. Staff were great and Nottingham is such a great spot to visit. Such a laid back vibe and some great sites in short walking distance like Nottingham Castle, The Galleries of Justice Museum (very haunted) and the city of caves (where Nottingham's poor lived). Don't forget to visit Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem pub the oldest drinking establishment in the UK.

I would rate every aspect of my stay as excellent until breakfast. What a shame that this should make me score 4 instead of 5.. No clean tables, no hot plates, delay with coffee/tea, out of bacon, out of beans....and so on. Apart from that would have no hesitation in recommending the Crowne Plaza, made even more special by its special guests: Paul Weller and Alter Bridge.

Room Tip: Penthouse every time.

Dear Banxy65

Thank you so much for your recent review and I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay with us.

I am sorry that we did not provide you with a relaxing breakfast. This was due to members of the team being poorly on the day which had a direct impact on the service levels. Please rest assured that your experience on the day was in no way reflective of that usually provided.

I do hope that you will visit us again and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Crowne Plaza.

To celebrate our 13th Wedding Anniversary (Lace) we chose to stay in Nottingham, the home of Lace, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

We must say that a warm welcome awaited us upon arrival and nothing was too much trouble. We quickly checked in (even though we were early) and went straight up to our Executive Room on the eighth floor. The Executive floor is great as you have full complimentary use of the Club Lounge where you can eat and drink to your heart's content! We were only in our room for 5 mins when there was a knock on the door. To our pleasant surprise a chilled bottle of Champers and pastries had been sent for us which started the day off a treat!

The hotel has a very spacious feel with almost a courtyard feel about it. You feel as though you could be in any city in Europe.

The breakfast the following morning was great, with plenty of choice. The food was excellent!

Even checking out was painless which in other hotels can be a bit of a chore.

Would I recommend this hotel? Well of course, yes. It is in a great location, the staff are friendly, yet professional, the food is excellent and the rooms are spacious.

A really great hotel!!!!

Room Tip: The Club Executive rooms on the top (8th floor) are brilliant. You get to use the Club Lounge where...

Stayed here for one night and it was OK. The bathrooms are a let down with either boiling hot or freezing cold water coming out of the taps. Toilet takes ages to refill which is frustrating and the sink didn't properly.

Breakfast was good and the staff friendly.

Clean and relatively modern, bad a standard hotel for business travel you couldn't complain.

It has a gym and spa which are also decent (gym a bit dated but when travelling beggars can't be choosers). One downside are the prices - £15 for a salad is pretty steep.
