“For a budget hotel it was great.”
Reviewed 25 October 2009

We paid £45 via laterooms and I dont expect a lot for that price, so was pleasantly surprised,
The reception staff were friendly and efficient.
Very low ceilings in the corridors to the rooms which felt a little claustophobic - but how long do you stay in the corridor???
Room was immaculately clean. A bit small maybe, but very comfy bed, and a big shower (no bath).
Was impressed that for a budget hotel, that it included leisure facilities. Pool wasnt the biggest, but sauna, steamroom and jaccuzzi were great. My husband used the gym facilites and found them good also.

We had one drink in the bar and found the service there not as good as reception, but no real complaints apart from being rather pricey (but there are alternatives just outside the hotel).
Free parking was a great bonus for a city hotel.
Location was good - about a mile and half from centre - cost us about £4 each way in a taxi, but quite walkable.
We didnt eat at the hotel so cant comment on the food other than that the price that included breakfast, didnt appeal to us!!!.
Would happily stay there again.

It's the little things let let this place down and some of them are so easy to put right! For example there are 2 menu's; bar and restaurant food both of very similar prices but it depends where you sit as to what you can have. Worst of all they stop serving at around 10pm and there is no room service meaning a trek up the road to a take away to find something when your back too late. The location is good though a bus trip is required to get into the city (bus stop nearby). The rooms are small and expense was certainly spared when it came to fixtures and fittings though the small bed was comfy. The bathroom was pleasant but they had removed the bath and just put in a shower - about the only time I get to have a bath is in a hotel room! I just thought it was a shame to remove the option. The gym, pool and sauna, etc were small but adequate for a short visit. Food was good, drinks were pricey, staff attitude varied considerably from an extremely helpful receptionist to an almost rude waitress. Parking was free though you have to get a token to leave. I would stay again but only briefly and if nothing better was available in the price range, and I would recommend to friends but with the above description.

I found the rooms in this hotel to be just too small. The facilities are there, desk & chair, TV, Tea making gear but it was all pcked into a room that was a couple of feet too small. Like beibg ib a caravan. However there was not a coathanger to be seen. I'm staying overnight! I need to hang up my clothes!!!
The receptionist on arrival answered three phone calls before attending to our party. We stood there like spare parts for over 10 minutes. Not good enough I'm afraid.
Beware the underground car park as well as opening your tailgate will hit the ceiling - a warning of this? You guessed didn't you! and concrete is unforgiving.

Booked this hotel due to it being on special offer (£42 per night). Wasn't expecting much but the room was very clean and bright, though a bit pokey, bathroom was spotless and quite elegantly designed with a massive shower. It was also quiet despite being a sat night. Bed was comfy and loads of channels on the TV. The staff were immensely helpful and friendly and even let us use the leisure facilities after we had checked out and returned after running in the Nottingham marathon! Restaurant was OK too, good value if unexciting food. Thought the gym was as good as some 5* hotels I've stayed in and the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were great. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel room was very small.I was sharing with my daughter and all her lugage as this was meant to be a relaxing break before she continued on her journey to New Zealand.Pool and gym very small indeed only two showers and one loo so hen party over whelmed the facilities.Breakfast cost a small fortune and was appauling. We ate out the next morning.Sunday morning all the stagg and hens returned in shifts to party outside our room roaring up and down the corridoor and leaving a gift of sick outside my room.Complained at reception and was told "well no one else as mentioned it"

I paid £41 for a tiny room (approx 10 ft x 25 ft) and no included breakfast.
We had to squeeze around the bed. There was no wardrobe or hangers provided.
Not really big enough for 2 people to get ready for a night out.
Pool was miniscule.
Only good thing about it was the cleanliness.
Verdict : Too expensive for what's offered.
Recommend: throw in WiFi and breakfast for the price of the room and it might be worth it.
