“Aching Cheeks!”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Loved the venue and the format of the evening. Yes, the tables were small, perhaps a benchtype table all the way around would be better, but you don't want it to take up too much space, and I think it adds to the atmosphere. We were on the front row, right up next to the stage, a bit scarey for our first time at this club (everyone in the front row was picked on). 3 comedians and an MC, plus food for £14 is a bargain really. Had a great time and a really good laugh!

“1st time at Nottingham Glee”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

Having been to the Glee in Birmingham on about 15 occasions we thought we would try a weekend in Nottingham and try the club there. Visited Saturday 19th April 2014.
Overall a similar experience to Birmingham with an almost identical running order.
Front row seats and plenty of banter from the comedians which is to be expected if you are a front row victim.
The welcome was friendly and the bar staff efficient. We tackled the platter which consisted of 10 chicken pieces , 3 mini corn on the cobs,12 onion rings , barbecue spare ribs , coleslaw , chips. Probably enough for 3 people but we just about managed between the 2 of us.
What we were impressed with was the large area downstairs where you can drink before and after the show. This is much more comfortable and welcoming than the Birmingham bar. There was also a happy hour after the show which persuaded many people to stay on. at £10 per person(£5 for students) we also thought this really good VFM. I think the equivalent show at Birmingham was £18.50.
Overall a really good evening which concluded at about 22.30 which means you can move on somewhere else afterwards, there are plenty of bars nearby . We plan to visit the Cardiff club on a weekend visit during the summer.

“Friday night comedy”
Reviewed 13 April 2014 via mobile

Had a really enjoyable night. Slightly baffled by the ordering of drink rules and overheard a waitress attempt to explain it to a couple of people for about 5 minutes, but appreciate the reason for during the show. 4 comedians on the night were fantastic and had the pleasure of meeting them after the show. Have read a couple of comments regarding the chairs.and tables, but I personally felt it added something to the place. You hardly want someone sat back puffing on a pipe whilst reading the times in a comedy club. Would very much recommend this night out and place to anyone.

“Decent venue ”
Reviewed 8 April 2014 via mobile

We had a good time at The Glee Club. Decent food and a variety of drinks. Paul Chowdhry kept us entertained for about 3 hours. Tables could have been bigger for our food and drinks though.

Loyal audience went to see the Oyster Band at the Glee Club on the 19th March. Nobody left disappointed. Table and chair arrangements with limited standing. Uninterrupted views from most areas.Helpful bar staff, food looked ok. Nice venue on Canal side with plenty of other bars nearby
