This new Malaysian restaurant, under La Gitane and next door to Broadway Cinema, was a last minute choice after seeing a rather dull menu opposite. Initial impression was that it was lacking atmosphere and rather stark. When it gets busier, it will appear more welcoming, though perhaps a few tables could be removed till it is busier and replaced with plants or bamboo screens or something. The food however was first-rate. We had the taster main at £10 pp which included an excellent beef rendang, a chicken satay with a perfect peanut sauce, a prawn crispy noodle dish, tofu and I forget the fifth dish ! All were excellent. With a son in Malaysia, we have spent a lot of time out there, and I think the lady chef (? proprietor) here, has really got the touch. Good sensibly priced wine list. Shall return and try a wider spread of dishes.
