“Clean & Comfortable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2013

Our first visit for one night was to a clean, comfortable and quiet room on the third floor. We had no problems with the hotel, our problem was simply finding it !
We drove round and round for nearly an hour in the dark during the rush hour. Our satnav had the hotels postcode inputted into it, but it wouldn't take us any where near.
In essence, the hotel was fine! - make sure you not only know the postcode if driving, but also the street name. ALSO, you need to contact them in advance to reserve parking.

Room Tip: Third floor at the front was nice

Hi Steve –

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel.

With regards to finding the hotel if you also enter building number 20 then this should bring you straight to the front doors of Ramada Nottingham, with Wollaton street being such a long road Sat-Nav’s don’t also locate us just from the postcode.

As suggested it is advisable to book in advance for the on-site car park as it is extremely popular but if it is full we have a discounted option at a near-by car park, there will never be a issue with parking your car.

Regards Jeremy

The location of this hotel is one of it's strongest points, right next to restaurants, shops, cinema etc. I stayed in a twin room and i liked that it was well equipped with an iron, ironing board, tea and coffee etc. and was comfortable. Breakfast was nice, most of the things you'd expect, cooked breakfast and a selection of cereals and yoghurts and some fruit. All in all a decent hotel for a city break without having to pay as much as other hotels in the area.

After reading reviews on here about various hotels in the city we decided to give this hotel a try, mainly because I have had good experiences with the Ramada and we wasn't disappointed.

When we arrived in nottingham we did find it a little hard in finding the hotel even with our sat nav. For some reason this takes you to the other side of the hotel which makes it a nightmare as the city centre has a one way system due to the buses and tram which have the main access. It's a good idea to call the hotel a day or so before you set off and also arrange parking as they have only a small car park under the hotel and you have to pay for this.

The room we had was fantastic as it overlooked the city. You get your own hairdryer, iron and trowser press with the spacious bedroom but does look dated in its colour scheme. It can get a little noisy as this hotel is right in the middle of town but we expected this. The staff were friendly and very helpful with our needs, we didn't have any food in the restaurant but only because we had a table booked elsewhere but if we do stay again we will certainly try this out.

They do have free wifi but did find this somewhat frustrating as we kept getting disconnected. I don't think they have a high bandwidth Internet connection that can handle multiple people using their net at the same time. We did find it a little funny that they have a TV in reception that displays the hotels facilities during the day then at night there's sports being shown, maybe they should keep this on the sports channel all the time.

All in all we had a fantastic time and will definitely be looking at booking here if we are back in that city

Location and room both excellent and only a few minutes walk from the centre of town.

I will be staying again as its only minutes from the office, however the food from the restaurant was awful (over cooked and greasy) so I will be eating in town in the future. Having said that breakfast was typical of a large hotel and generally okay.

Hi Andy –

Thank you for the feedback during your recent stay. I have passed on your comments to the Head Chef who will be looking into the points raised, I hope you will try the evening menu in the future and notice the improvements.

I also agree the Breakfast is excellent and at only £5.95 per person offers a great value and selection.

Regards Jeremy

Stayed in this hotel for a visit to the Royal Concert Hall, very easy to find, reception staff very helpful and cheerful, shame about the bar staff, but this didn't deter us from enjoying our visit, room, one of the largest rooms we've had.
Totally enjoyed our trip and would use Ramada Hotels again

Just returned from a 2 night KGB deal, and was not impressed. The room was large and clean, but the pillows were like wafers, and even with 3 I was still flat on the mattress! bathroom was clean and maid service was good though. As KGB deal customers we had a 3 course meal included on our first night, but we didn't realise they would go to the local Iceland store for it! We chose the sate chicken with mango chutney to start, which arrived as tiny pieces of dry chicken (no peanut sauce) on sticks and chilli sauce. Next we ordered the cod and chunky chips, well the fish may have been cod in one lifetime but it certainly wasn't now! It was grey and overcooked and the chips were just taken from a frozen packet. For desert we had asked for Lemon meringue and fudge cake, but was told that they may have run out, so something similar would be served. We ended up with a sliver of lemon tart and a chocolate cheesecake! Thankfully breakfast on both mornings was lovely, and that kind of made up it. Have stayed in Ramada hotels before and have always loved it, but this experience has now made me change my view, and probably wouldn't stay here again

Thank you Trish for taking the time to complete a review on Trip Advisor, it is through these reviews we can gain feedback and look at ways to offer an even better service.

Thank you for the kind comments on cleanliness, room size and breakfast. I will speak to the Team and pass your comments on.

I was sorry to read your points regarding the KGB Menu, this was selected so we could offer the great package deal at such a good price. I will speak with the Head Chef and look at ways we can improve the KGB menu moving forward.

Cheers Jeremy –
