We have stayed here previously with no problems, very central for the city Center and night life, however this time the room was an unbelievable 30 degrees, the windows only opened a fraction and the fan provided did little to cool the room down , the student union building opposite had a live band on till 4/5 a.m which kept us awake, then the trams started at 6.00, if we were able to close the window the outside noise wouldn't have been a problem, but due to the heat this was not an option. When we checked out we were asked if everything was alright and when I mentioned the hot room the young man said his room was the same, thought this was not really a satisfactory answer! There was only one lift working and the car park is not adequate . We asked to extend our room check out time but they were unable to do that so we were given the key to the disabled toilets to change in... Not ideal! The restaurant and bar staff were very polite and helpful, but must say the food was not as good as our last stay. Good offer on two courses a drink and full breakfast for 22,99. Very comfortable bed but bathroom could probably do with an update.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back or side then you should not get too much street/tram and student union noise!

Rooms are clean and location of hotel is very good. However, I found the service to be very poor. There was no air conditioning in room, no phone in room to ring reception, and too few towels provided.

Arrived on 20/7/14 after the check-in time but room was not ready for another hour! One lift was not working. Although the room was comfortable it was extremely hot in the rooms, each did have a desk top fan (which was useless in the heat). They really need to put a small fridge in the rooms so you can have cold drinks when needed

I stayed here for my birthday. Managed to get a £25 room and it was well worth it. They charge for parking which not all premier inns do! But the breakfast was delicious and runs until quite late which suited us after a late night.

We have used this hotel in the past, and it is well positioned close to town and the university . We used it to attend or daughters graduation, ideally positioned, however, the temperature in the rooms is ridiculous. It is summer with temperatures outside of around 25. However, our rooms, we had 3, were around 30 degrees, the windows are ludicrously limited opening to about 75mm so you cannot get any air in the rooms, the supplied fans are just moving around very hot air.
This hotel is fine when the temperatures are cold or moderate, I would not use it in the summer, until they get air con installed.

Room Tip: dont choose the top floor as I believe the design of the roof means the upper rooms get even hotter than the lower rooms, however, noise if worse lower down. Ventilation is awful
