When I was younger, Harts was one of 'the' places to go & either stay, or maybe grab some pre-theatre eats on a Friday night. If you wanted to wow a partner, you couldn't fail with Harts. I've stayed here a few times (wedding, date night, birthday, & general) and its always been good. My partner & I stayed for a night this weekend and the overall experience was pretty good. Maybe my expectations as I've gotten older have become grander, but even the 'superior' deluxe room although was lovely, (with amazing views overlooking Nottingham) was still a touch 'small'. I was also disappointed that despite the bed being perfectly comfortable, it had an air of 'unfinishedness' about it.

The staff were courteous and helpful, despite having a large and rather racious wedding to attend to, and everything was 'comfortable'. Harts clearly however, hasn't had a cash investment for quite some time, the restaurant décor was very disappointing with tired and worn flooring and the bar which, at this end of town should be considerably well appointed, was appalling.

There is nothing wrong with this hotel, and Im staying there next month, but if you want a good night, do this;

1) Get a Garden Room £175 MINIMUM, or a Suite. Don't bother with any smaller room, there's just better hotels (Lace Market Hotel) around.

2) Don't bother eating at the restaurant, whilst the food is consistently good, the décor is more 'little chef' than anything. You may as well walk to Browns Brassiere down the road and get some top notch food without the cost overhead and finally,

3) Don't bother drinking at the bar, either order up room service or again, walk down to Browns, which is more in line with probably anyone's expectations who stay at Harts

Room Tip: Garden Rooms or suites are the only room types worthy of your cash.

Stayed here for one night, nice room cosy with good deep bath and shower. Tea and coffee mini bar crisps, nuts and good biscuits. Main bar s cosy with plenty of outside seating.
The young lady receptionist on departing was a perfect joy.

Room Tip: Room was offered at £145, told them that was too much, was offered same room for £100.

We arrived on sunday after booking the sunday special package. we had dinner three years ago and we were very impressed. the whole experience from being greeted at reception to checking out the following day was flawless. We were upgraded which was a nice surprise. The room was small but had a great view, quality furnishings and was very quiet, which was perfect for a weekend away from the children!

I cannot recommend the hotel and restaurant more strongly. A great location, staff and food with a quality associated with much more expensive establishments

We will be back as soon as we can persuade the grandparents to babysit

one night stop over for a party in the town. We took the suite which was pleasant, nicely laid out plus coming with a bathroom and separate shower room was very useful. Clean airy rooms. Very handily located for the town center they also accommodated us for a brief meal (took the pre-theatre meal which is swift and if anything over-large on portion size). Not the cheapest but then we could have gone for the smaller rooms but appreciate having a separate lounge area.

A very well presented hotel in a very exclusive part of the City, Literally only 5 minutes walk from the High St but set in a very tranquil cul de sac location tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the City.
The standard room was spotless with a very sleek modern design.

I'd definitely return.
