After three days of rock festival needed a good breakfast so wandered over to the lace market on route to railway station. This was a small cafe but offered a reasonable large variety of dishes some unusual variations on breakfast dishes including vegetarian options and main courses. It is always good that you read between the lines,I dont always get put off by bad reviews but this place got loads of good ones so was worth a small detour to try.Food was excellent and perfect in every way full english for £5.95 good value great fresh bread toast and well cooked eggs with creamy runny yokes ,partner had jacket potato beans, cheese and salad good size with loads of beans. Two latte coffee also fresh and great tasting. This cafe excellent and reminds me of the great Betty Browns which was lauded in Nottingham for years glad we came and will return lace market nice area to walk the food off, excellent. All food we saw appeared to have to be delivered with love and care!

Family trip for breakfast treat and it certainly was.
Probably could only sit around 20-25 people but not cramped.
Food choices great and what was ordered was fabulous. My other half is a food snob( works in food industry so picky) There were no moans , lots of praise and his plate was cleared . So definitely full credit the Chef.
The eggs were incredible to look at and reported to be perfect. Combined with amongst other things Chorizo. Marvellous.
I had creamy mushrooms on toast, loved it.
The cabinet at the front of the counter was full of special foods and cakes. Next visit I’ll be checking them out .
There’s a good selection of drinks .
Now the staff , delightful , polite , attentive. Doing a great job.
Another place I would recommend to try . If you arrive and it looks shut , check the door.

I tried the small english breakfast, and it was amazing! Toasted bread with butter, sausage, egg, mushrooms and beans. All fantastic except for tomato beans which I found a bit too sweat - didn't fit with the rest of composition in my opinion. Very good prices

Came here cause been recommended on their coffee.
It was OK.. not amazing but decent coffee so can't fault it.
The coffee came with a biscuit!

Their staff was really friendly though!

Didn't try the food so can't review on that.
We went around 3pm on Sunday and their display fridge for food almost empty. Will try next time.
