“Will definitely return. Staff made the hotel.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2012

We arrived early as we were booked into a spa up the road at 1 and the hotel staff booked us in early as our room was available already which was a bonus.
The hotel was a great location as we found out later on when we went into the town later for a comedy club night. It was £4-£5 in a taxi one way so location was perfect.
It was also surprisingly quiet considering it was on a main road. You could only hear traffic if you opened your bedroom window.
The room was very clean and tidy and you could tell it had been refurbished up to a high standard. The decor was up to date and all the facilities in the room was gleaming.
There was plenty of tea and coffee supplies and a kettle in the room.
For the ladies there was a good hair dryer so you don't need to pack your own like my friend and I did and the toiletries in the bathroom were gilchrist and soames. We were impressed by this. Plus the bath towels were a good size as some hotels are the size of a postage stamp.
The only complaint we have which is minor was the shower. It didn't have much power and took a while to rinse suds.
For the business people you have free wifi which is great.
Staff were always on hand to help, be it to book a taxi or help with our luggage.
From start to finish we were made to feel welcome. The staff are a real credit to your hotel.
We will definitely return.

Basic b&b-type accommodation. If you can get this around the price of a travelodge then as breakfast is included go for it. Bedrooms better than the public areas which are extremely tired and in need of a revamp but overall fine for a night or two. Breakfast adequate. I will say that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, much better than you would get at a chain place.

We stayed for 2 nights from 22nd June. Having seen some negative reviews about some of the rooms being very small, we decided to book an executive room. It appeared newly refurbished - the decor was beautiful and the room itself was extremely spacious. The bathroom was beautiful with travertine tiling and a stand alone bath tub as well as a large walk-in shower. We were more than satisfied with the accommodation, but some of the public areas looked a little tired (worn carpet on the stairs and grubby woodwork) which seemed a little incongruous given the standard of the room. We found the staff quiet and, as a previous reviewer said, they kept themselves to themselves. They were by no means rude, but not overly friendly either. Still, they did their jobs and we had no complaints. Breakfast (self-service) was adequate, though it was a little impersonal and a bit hit and miss as to what was available on the hot plate when you got there. All the beverages came from a machine and whilst the coffee was fine, the orange juice was like water - in fact I thought I had pressed the wrong button at first. It was quite a small dining room, so it was a little surprising that the buffet managed to run out of several items at the same time, although there weren't many staff and there didn't seem to be anyone directing operations. All things considered, we enjoyed our stay and were very happy with our room choice.

Stayed with my partner back in February. Check in was good, staff seemed to keep themselves to themselves but still friendly, our room was Huge! Which really made the trip.
Bus links very good into city centre and a taxi back after 12am only cost us £6!
Breakfast good, sometimes wish you have the option of grilled foods though. (not just this hotel)

Would reccomend.

Room Tip: Although our room was lovely, it was at front of the hotel which got quite noisy.

I stayed here with my partner as we travelled to Nottingham for a friends birthday. After paying £70 for my double room for one night i had quite high expectations. I was very disappointed. Although i cannot complain about the clean standards and decor of the room it was absoloutley tiny, the bed was smaller than any double bed i had ever seen before and me and my partner had a difficult time sleeping on it together and the shower had no power and just dribbled out of the hose. I have stayed in Premire Inns a lot with work and find them much much better for less money. The room was also very difficult to find after our vague directions from the less than helpful receptionist, it was a twisty maze of tiny hallways and the rooms seemed to be in no logical order.

In all it was a rip off for the service we recieved, the location of the hotel and the size of the room. I will stick to my instincts and stay at a premire inn next time.

Thank you for your review

We are a Victorian conversion of 4 buildings and as such our rooms have the individuality of varying in size. None of our double beds are smaller than 4' 6" (which is a standard double bed). In our king and executive rooms we have the largest of rooms which have a 6' king size bed. These are all available for a small upgrade.

We are sorry for your disappointment. Should you visit us again may I suggest the upgrade

Have stayed a number of times and find for what you pay and it's location a good price .
First time I have eaten here and the last , ordered a soup with a roll soup ok but no roll or butter as advertised. Main meal steak and kidney pie , more like kidney no steak pastry rock hard so hard that when you put a knife to it bounce of the plate. Peas were nice the other veg unsure what it was. Chips hard and dry, no napkin had to get up and nick one. Plate removed and my feedback given and that's where it ended. Would I stay again " yes" but eat out . Not geared up for food a lot of work required here....
