My husband and sons just got back from a stag weekend. They said it was the worst place they've ever stayed in. Filthy bedrooms but clean sheets. Furniture looked like 1970 army camp style with plastic mattresses. Stank of smoke and damp. Mould everywhere. Felt like a hostel for drop outs. In a very run down area. No parking nearby. Bins and rubbish everywhere in local streets. Terrible nights sleep. Couldn't wait to leave. Even unworn clothes had to be washed to get rid of the smell of this place. Just disgusting. You'd have to be desperate to stay here !

the worst place i have stayed and tha location worse , prostitues and drug deals going on every 5 mins which is very unsettling . Staff look at you gone out and not very helpfull but then again think they were off there head! When we came back to get ready for the evening had much nicer staff on which made us relax more . Rooms are not good , got punch holes in the doors (on all 4 rooms we were occuping) . I know its cheap but we came accross a lot of people that were staying at a travel lodge for the same price, and no joke that would be luxury next to this place! Oh i dont leave any valuables about !

I went to Nottingham for the weekend to celebrate my 22nd birthday with 4 friends. I had read the reviews for this "hotel" and for the price we paid, £50 for 5 person bedroom for the night, my expectations were very low!

First off, there is hardly any parking! We ended up on a dodgy looking side street but in all fairness, it is said that there is minimal parking! The woman at the desk gave the impression that we were inconviencing her by asking to check in. She basically chucked the key at us and pointed us in the direction of the room! Ahh the room, after passing the 2 matresses just were just propped on the wall and opening our door that had chunks of wood missing from it, we finally got to see what £50 buys you....

The room looked dirty, had paper peeling off the walls, and I cant even begin to explain the smell that was coming from the toilet! (we also made the unfortunate mistake of looking in the kettle- i will put a picture up!) In all fairness, on closer inspection- the bed linen was clean and the smell from the toilet seemed to be coming from outside! Luckily we were able to see the funny side of this room as we literally needed it to get a few hours sleep however if I had been with family rather then friends I would have us checked into a Travelodge before you could say "health inspector"

The bar area was OK, the drinks were slightly cheaper then I thought they were going to be and there was a shop opposite so we were able to get a few drinks before heading out.

I think the best way to sum this hotel up is what my friend said to me... "wipe your feet on the way out"

If your after a dirt (and i mean that literally) cheap place to stay where you will only spend a few hours and have a decent sense of humour then try here!

I booked this hotel for my stag do in nottingham during late April '11. And really wished I hadn't!

Arrived at the hotel unable to park . Had called before hand and was assured there was plenty of parking around the local area. Neglected to mention it was all Permit Parking mind! Popped in on arrival to ask staff where the best place to park was and received a very helpful shrug of the shoulders followed by a 'Dunno mate' which set the tone for the rest of the weekend in all fairness. Eventually parked a country mile away from the hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed the scenic views whilst hiking the best part of a couple of miles up towards the hotel with all my stuff after a long car journey. I THINK NOT!

I had agreed beforehand to use 5 rooms for the 2 nights for £465 . We only got 4 rooms but were still charged the full £465 which still doesn't make much sense to me.Ripped off????...Nice!
For £35 pound per person for a 2 night stay my expectations were very low. I assure you the hotels standards were much lower. Half expected a man called manuel to try to take my drink(which would make them seemingly overstaffed it seems). Faulty Towers wasn't so far fetched after this stay ladies and gentleman!
To myself and my party we had a selection of 'affectionate' names for our hotel which included ' Beirut' 'Hitlers bomb shelter' and my personal favorite 'Fritzle Palace' which to be honest did a large disservice to Joseph Fritzel's building skills which insidently far surpassed what we were faced with. I'd rather stay in his underground dungeon than stay in this hotel again

I had already paid a large deposit beforehand and was prepared to settle on arrival but assured it could wait til we checked out on the sunday......straigthtforward right??? WRONG!

Got into our rooms which were adequate and usable ( or at this point we thought) and headed down to the hotels bar which was it's only redeeming feature and even that had its flaws

A bar full of 2 stag parties staying at the hotel with 1 member of staff not just running the bar but simultaneously running the reception meant as long as you didn't mind waiting the best part of half an hour for a a god awful pint it was delightful.

Then the fun and games began. a friend in the shower was asked to get out of the shower as the shower in our room was leaking downstairs into the reception and bar area. This forced 5 lads to share one shower which took ages and was not fun!

Had to get a taxi into Nottingham city center, not conveniently located!

Next day I unfortunately lost our room key and was told it was fine and would be replaced and I didn't need to pay for a replacement which I was glad about ...more to come later

Then the phone calls started. on the second night out of my stag do while out I received phone calls from the 'boss' of the hotel saying he needed the money we owed for the room. I conveyed the information I had received from his staff on arrival and was kindly informed this information was wrong and I should have settled on arrival. How was this my fault??? So anyway I told the guy I would settle up on check out at 12 the next day. He agreed and all was well.......He then called me again! And I had to repeat the exact Information I had said earlier . Why? I don't know :/ If this is anything to go by I can see where his staff get it from

Settled up on check out all was well. Until it came to the matter of the lost room key which he charged me £10 to get the key replaced. £10 quid???? give it to me and I will go to timpsons for a few quid!?!?! The fact I told the man I was given other information by his staff didn't deter him.

So overall a dump of doom full of backwards staff with as much common sense as a door knob .Avoid like the plague!!!!

amazing hotel , rang the bell to get in,greeted by a young skanky woman at the reception, the room itself , had ash on the window, no soap in the bathroom , but it did have toilet roll in its wrapper, the ceiling was half there. the matress was very springy, the room smelt of urine the area around the hotel was full of hobo's. we had to cross the road because of a black man with a big chain around his waist.

The maids changed our bin.
