Me and my friend Decided to make a stop over in Nottingham , we chose this hotel thinking that as a four star hotel it would offer much more than we got ..
The first impression with the young man at reception was very good and then ..
Well few things wasn't right
Burned sofa cushion on the bed facing upwards , blond hair on hairdryer , view over a dirty roof top , that's a room 358 .
That's is a poor quality decoration ie plain painted walls as in premier inn just big price difference ..
We would advice to have a separate menu in a restaurant for the set price dinner , somebody who payed already for the meal doesn't need too look at the menu with the prices on that's not a pub that's supposed to be a 4* hotel, we didn't understand a phone call made to our room after we had retired , somebody who was in charge in a restaurant was asking for us to go back downstairs and pay for our drinks , the same person who had let us leave the restaurant ..
The breakfast was very poor quality and cold ..
We would not return ..

The customer service is amazing. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were made to feel welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Even in the morning when my wife was unable to enjoy the breakfast, due to an upcoming hospital visit, the manageress made her a small lunch for after her appointment. The hotel is clean, well laid out, has good facilities and the food is extremely good. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed here as I had an early hospital appointement in Nottingham the following morning. We were expecting a functional, corporate hotel but how wrong we were. From the minute we stepped inside, the staff were amazing; genuinely friendly, helpful and they really seemed to care about our stay. The restaurant was particularly impressive; not only was the food delicious but the service was outstanding. The morning we left, I was not able to eat the breakfast due to the up-coming hospital procedure and the restaurant manageress actually made me a ham sandwich to take away along with croissants, danishes and fresh orange juice. We were bowled over by such kindness.

As for the rooms, they were fantastic. Everything had been thought of from black-out blinds to a large tower fan. The room was immaculately clean and the bed was so comfortable that, despite never sleeping very well in hotels, I slept like a log! The bathroom was also immaculate and we were delighted to see a bath and separate shower.

We would not hesitate in staying here again or recommending this hotel, and others in their chain, to anyone. A really impressive place!

We stayed here over New Year and we had a ball!!!! From check in, To relaxing just everything was fantastic.

We have been back a few weeks ago to use the spa etc but they had no hot water for a few hours and it was freezing!!! But they managed to get it sorted which was there priorty.

In fact we are going back on 26th March to have a spa day for our 7th Wedding Anniversary so I'm hoping it will be just as nice.

Nice rooms in a "business park environment" - large car park, close to M1 but not relly the type of place you would go for a weekend break or even a romantic get-away .... Restaurant over-priced / a 600% mark-up on a cheap bottle of wine is not justified. Charging £3.50 for a few onion rings -to me- is taking more than liberties.
Leisure Centre: quite nice, but the drain pipe to the water fountain should not end on the floor - anyone spitting into the basin means that the result will end up in the pool- not hygenic at all and surely not according to health and safety regulations !! For this reason I have given cleanliness a "poor" rating.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the inside court- others are too noisy.

Dear WolfieB1,
Thank you for posting your review regarding your recent stay at The Nottingham Belfry. We are, as you state, ideally located for convenient access to the M1 and major routes into Nottingham. Whilst this is a positive point for many of our guests, it may not suit all. Although situated on a Business Park, we like to think that once in the Hotel, the ambience and service is of the same great standard one would experience in any quality hotel. Our restaurant serves freshly prepared dishes with high quality produce. The cost, at times, reflects this quality although there is a large selection of dishes in the restaurant and Oaks Bar at varying prices. Again our wines are of a good quality and are carefully selected through expert buyers.
Our leisure club has very high hygiene standards and is highly rated in Health & Safety audits - the drainage that you speak of feeds directly into the pool sanitation system, however, as always we will look into what improvements can be made.
Once again, thank you for your review.
Yours sincerely,
Darren Hayward.

The only real positive I can offer was that the bed was comfortable. When I arrived it was late and even though I had requested a room that was quiet I was allocated a room on the second floor overlooking the leisure centre and side of the bar area. I could hear a baby crying and noisy parents in an adjacent room and just general noise through to the early hours. Worryingly the room window was open on arrival even though it was cold; the room smelled 'sour' maybe that why the window was open. There was a red stain on the carpet at the side of the bed and whilst the bathroom was clean the rest of the room was only average.I was told that the hotel was fully booked and there were no other options. Other unexpected positives were the rate, free car park and the free WI FI. I am sorry but based on this experience I would not choose to stay here again, as you only get one chance to make a first impression and my impression was not good. I had not time to use the leisure centre or take breakfast so I cannot comment.

Room Tip: My room was noisy so choose a room thats not overlooking the bar of leisure facilities.

Dear 0213,
Thank you for your review. I am somewhat puzzled as to which rooms you might be referring to as we do not have any that overlook the bar or leisure club. I am, however, pleased that you found the Rate, the free Wi-Fi and the free Parking to your satisfaction.
Our leisure Club and Restaurant are superb - it is unfortunate that you did not get the opportunity to enjoy these aspects of the Hotel.
Yours sincerely,
Darren Hayward.
