Just recently stayed for one night only at the Belfry Hotel Nottingham. This was purely for pleasure as we were attending a friends wedding at nearby Strelley Hall.
We found the Hotel to be really nice, very pleasant Staff, beautiful rooms with everything you would expect including iron / iron board, kettle , T.V. internet connection if required.
This Hotel is about 6 miles from the City centre of Nottingham.
I cannot comment on the food at this Hotel as we did not make breakfast due to a late night, but this was our choice.
If I have any negatives to say about this Hotel, there would be only one, and that is, it would be really great if they supplied a bottle of water in your room , but overall a very enjoyable and very comfortable stay , the beds are exceptionally comfortable and yes I would recommend this Hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room over looking the road, but as this hotel is situated at the side of the road, the only other view would have been the carpark.

We stayed here for one night to break up a long drive south. Overall it is a good place. Ideal location for what we needed, being just a couple of minutes from the M1.
Check-in was easy and pleasant. All details were dealt with efficiently.
We had adjacent rooms. Kids in one room, parents in the other. The layout of these was innovative and very good, as we shared the same 'front door' as it were, to a small hallway where the two bedroom doors then led from. Ideal for a family.
The rooms however were just too warm. Uncomfortably warm. Even with the windows opened the small amount they physically can be, and the token fan unit running.
This didn't allow for a pleasant sleep. With the room facing the road, leaving the window open overnight allowed the very loud traffic noise into the room. But you have to leave them open or it is just too warm.
I spoke to reception at check out about the temperature issue and apparently it is in hand, with AC planned to be installed soon! Hopefully very soon!!
Lunch and dinner were fine. Lunch we had from the cafe style bar just by reception, and dinner was in the restaurant.
Breakfast was average. The best parts of it being the stuff you do yourself as it were....like fruit with yoghurt, cereals, etc. The cooked offerings were motorway service standard stuff I thought.

We used the spa for a swim before breakfast. This was fine. Clean and tidy.

I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others. You just need to be aware of the issues. I had read TripAdvisor reviews so knew the issues. But they didn't outweigh our requirements for just a one night stay.

Room Tip: Request a room not facing the busy main road, so you can leave the windows open.

This is a great location - easy to find off the MI J26. Its also very close to the Pheonix Park tram stop and park&ride. Tram is excellent way to get into Nottingham without paying for parking in the City Centre. But the best bit is the food! Dinner was exceptional quality and presetation was of a very high standard. Usually hotel food is to be tolerated for convenience - but not in this case it was outstanding.
Staff were very helpful and friendly so giove it a try.

Room Tip: Ask for aroom that does not overlook the road - it can be noisy!

The general standard of this hotel was very good. The bedroom was comfortable, spacious and clean with good en-suite bathroom facilities. There was a good choice of food at breakfast. I didn't get a chance to check out the leisure facilities due to my schedule. The Restaurant menu seemed very pricey, but there is the option to eat from the bar menu in the bar which had quite a lot of choice, and the bar surroundings were open and spacious. Some of the people I was with had to wait at least 40 minutes for a dessert 3 evenings in a row. This hotel is quite a way out of town, so not a good position if you want to be out and about in Nottingham, but a pleasant and comfortable stay if you are just passing through.
