Cryptology Nottingham is a MUST!
I attended as part of a group on a team building event with work and it was great fun. It was most definitely better than what I expected.
We were placed in a room called The Crypt. We worked as a team to try and solve the puzzles but unfortunately we didn't escape in time. We didn't let this bother us too much as we had had such a good time.
I would also like to say a big thank you to Mark and his team for being so helpful when booking the event and also on the day we attended.
I would recommend to all.
Great set-up, and the guys at Cryptology really help you to enjoy the experience. Rooms were a lot of fun and it works great as a team building exercise (yes, sorry but it does work very well and I'd recommend for businesses who want to see who comes across as a leader when the chips are down).
Fully worth a visit for either a group of mates, family or as a business team building day.
Already booked in again...........
Great venue, really enjoyed the experience and as a team building event, this really was one of the best i have been on. Staff really friendly and helpful.
realy good fun and very tense seeing the clock tick down - managed to escape with seconds to go...phewwwww :-)
We have just been to visit here for the first time. We booked it for my sons 14th birthday. It was even better than I thought it would be. We managed to escape the room with 58 seconds to spare. There were 4 of us 2 adults and two teenagers and we all loved it. There is so much to have to solve but it was such fun. You don't have to be clever just lots of logical thinking. It is not too easy either. Team work and thinking aloud works wonders. We will definitely be back to do another room. Would definitely recommend.
Me and my partner did Cypherdine room after reading so many good reviews about the place. The reviews are misleading...Seriously I have no words for this place. So far the worst escape room we have done around.
When your review came in, my team were very sad, but moreover quite confused.
We have scanned through our backend of all groups of two in the last 3 months for Cypherdyne and can confirm we have a picture for every group of 2 we have seen, and our staff have confirmed there were no misgivings about our customers’ enjoyment (or lack of).
In checking your profile we can see you have reviewed two other escape rooms too. One favourably, one not so.
What I love about the local escape room community is the mutual support we have for each other, whilst bringing fun and unique experiences to our areas. We’ve had reviewers say “there is not a bad game in Nottingham”, after they have tried every room in every company.
We all strive to bring events that appeal to as many people as possible, however we are conscious that you cannot please everybody. We suggest and recommend each other, as the more people who do escape rooms and enjoy them, the better it is for us all.
This is where the great relationship of the escape room community has come in...
The three businesses can confirm that for every group of two that has been to us, there are no matching images (we have all investigated each other's group shots which are publically available). Due to data protection we cannot swap databases, but have confirmed that no name appears on all of our system records.
On one of the other reviews you mentioned cheap props and decoration. Maybe you have forgotten or not seen the last part of their room, as the prop is anything but cheap!
So first of all, this bad and dubious review has strengthened the relationship between the three businesses, but this appears to be the only positive we can take from this review.
Your words “reviews are misleading” is hard to justify, reviews by their very nature are people's personal view after experiencing them. Whilst escape rooms are still quite new and most first-timers love them regardless, we’ve had many enthusiasts come, and we have had positive reviews from them.
“I have no words for this place” means you’re not backing up a terrible review with any evidence, or anything which the owner (me) can use to improve.
“So far the worst escape room”. I have done plenty of escape rooms, some have been outstanding, the vast majority very good, but even the worst are still a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Our backend system has notes for every group that visit us, and we cannot find any feelings or mentions of people’s terrible experiences, backed up by the fact each group of two happily had their picture taken (even those who did not fully complete the challenge).
So whilst we can take on the chin somebody not enjoying our experience, there seems to be too much suspect about this review and the reviewer’s profile for us to be able to react, other than this wordy reply.
Please contact us with your booking name / email so if our investigations turn out to be incorrect, we can talk to you about your misgivings in order to improve our business and look at some way at trying to appease you.
