We had a package that included a junior suite, flowers, chocs, champagne, afternoon cream tea and evening meal.
We had the champagne with the cream tea in the garden......great.
The suite was the smallest that we've ever stayed in, and I'd question whether 'suite' really describes it.. we usually have larger rooms that are not so described. We were offered fresh milk in the room on three occasions.. but it never arrived. There's a problem with the cold tap.
The evening meal was excellent for the main course, brilliant for the dessert, but the muse bouche and cold haddock soupy starter were an odd mix, and really didn't work.
We've stayed here before, in an ordinary room, when everything was fine... just shows that sometimes you don't get what you pay for.

The Bay Tree is a beautiful 16th century building that was once home to one of Queen Elizabeth 1 courtiers and it retains all of its historical charm while having all modern amenities. It is in a quiet little street off the main high street so is very peaceful. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service first class. It has ample parking which is very important as this is scarce in the town. We had a really lovely and very memorable weekend. Thank you.

Room Tip: Don't know what the rooms in the main part of the hotel, we were in the annexe and it was very q...

The Bay Tree Hotel in Burford, England was the site of my wedding reception and dinner on March 8, 2014. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of Maureen Davis, the wedding coordinator, as well as all the staff involved. They made sure that we, and all our guests, were catered to and pampered. Our wedding suite that night was exactly what I had imagined an English country inn should be - including a roaring fire in the fireplace waiting for us. Our wedding day was the real fairy tale I had imagined, thanks in large part to the wonderful people at the Bay Tree.

I stayed at The Bay Tree hotel this weekend and had an amazing time. The staff were helpful and polite. My fiancee and i won a trip to stay at this hotel and on our arrival we had been upgraded to an amazing junior suite with a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us. The room was spotless and very comfortable i will be definitely staying here again in the future and i can't wait to return. The hotel is in a great location very close to the A40 with other places well worth a visit like Burton on the Water.

Thank you to everyone at the hotel who made our stay so perfect.

Went to a wedding here recently and we were so well looked after by all the staff even though we weren't top table guests, nothing was too much trouble.
We had a gorgeous wedding breakfast and the rooms were sheer luxury - wow what a comfortable bed.
We were blessed on the Sunday with probably one of the best days of the year so far and enjoyed a stroll around Burford village which is a delight in itself.
It was so good we intend to return for our wedding anniversary and have a weekend there.
A real top hotel - only let down was the one ale which they had, not great for a beer drinker.

We had our wedding at the Bay Tree Hotel in February and were treated like royalty! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was terrific and as for the venue itself it is romantic and ooooozzzes character and charm, with log fires burning. All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were very complimentary of the hotel and its staff. We recommend this hotel as a first class wedding venue. Thank you to Maureen the Wedding Planner and Mark the Duty Manager who was present for the entire wedding and acted as a master of ceremonies.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful and individually decorated with style.

Stayed at this delightful place Sunday night. We thought everything about it was lovely, full of old Cotswold charm & cosiness.
We had a very good 3 course Sunday lunch in the main dining room, overlooking the walled garden. Stayed in a superior garden room called Kempster, it was bright, airy & well decorated. The bathroom was stocked with Molton Brown toiletries which was an extra bonus!
Every member of staff we came across was very helpful & polite, the couldn't do enough for us.
All in all, a lovely place to stay & we will hopefully be back soon.
