Just about everything about Ash's Barn is excellent. It's clean, comfortable and well equipped. It's also in a convenient location for exploring the southern Cotswolds, being only a few hundred metres off the main A40 road. Despite this, it's sheltered from the traffic noise by a good belt of trees, and the location is very rural with far reaching views over the countryside and a variety of bird life (including Great Spotted Woodpeckers and Yellowhammers) visible from the property. There are country walks straight from the door - but do take wellies as the paths can be muddy.
Equipment is good; although not mentioned in the description, there's a microwave (you can see it in the photos), and the fridge has a small ice compartment. The soft furnishings are all of very good quality and the bed is very comfortable. There's no wifi but there is a mobile signal (at least on the Three network).
The underfloor heating was well able to warm the large space (there's also a radiator in the mezzanine bedroom and a heated towel rail in the shower room) so we didn't need to use the log burner. There's a generous shower enclosure with a nice powerful shower and reliable hot water.
Fantastic setting, wonderful views, close to many attractions. The Barn is clean and modern, bathroom a real treat.
Ash's Barn is everything you expect and more.
The perfect place for a relaxing break.
Sit outside and just admire the view which is something you would never forget.
Close by to many lovely villages and so easy to get about.
Our only regret is that we did not book for longer but next time we will.
If you are looking for some peace and quiet then Ash's Barn is a "must"
I would recommend this retreat .beautiful scenery wild life and easy to commute .me and my good lady spent 2 nights here and will definitely be back ..thanks again to the owners
Wonderful place to spend my husband's birthday - romantic, peaceful, great location. Had issue with DVD on first night but John rectified with superspeed so film nights went ahead throughout our week. Lots of walking and cycling. Recommend visit to Blenheim Palace and Roman Villa at Chedworth. Had a great meal at The Lamb in Rislington. Have shared this wonderful find with friends already.
