I visited with friends on a walk around the local area. We had a sandwich and a drink. To be honest it's more of a restaurant and hotel than a cosy cotswold pub. I guess we were looking for a cracking log fire and a ploughmans lunch. The pub looks lovely from the outside but all very stripped out and clinical on the inside. Sandwiches were a bit tastless and expensive. Not my cup of tea. Have to say service was good though.

We had a lovely meal with great service from the bar and waiting staff. They were attentive without being over bearing. The food was delicious and I would through recommend the cheese as they give you details and accompaniments to go with each one type and they are local.
A great time in a lovely atmosphere.

Everything is lovely, atmosphere, staff (nothing too much trouble and very welcoming) food, drink, rooms, bed (very comfortable with a great nights sleep) relaxing!! Frenchie the manager, knows his stuff and is very passionate and knowledgable about the menu and wine list, an asset to the place! Great place to stay!

Stayed for 3 nights this week, comfortable place to stay with great bar/restaurant and food and drink.

Rooms well appointed and clean, but limited clothes storage. Fine for a couple of nights.

Staff are very good, nothing too much trouble.

Overnight stay and meal in the restaurant during our visit to the Cotswolds. The (Hunting)room was extremely clean and to a high spec. Restaurant was nice with a small but interesting menu and the food was good. Would recommend

The touches that were left out would make me think twice about staying more than 2 nights. We stayed in the boot room for one night. Stunning bathroom, exceptionally comfortable bed, very friendly professional staff, deserts to die for (great presentation) in a lovely Cotswold setting. But why was the hanging space only 4 wall mounted coat hooks in an alcove, only 3 teabags (plenty of coffee & Chocolate), no tissues or bottled water and the bags could only be left on the floor, hence the reservations about an extended stay. The place looked spotlessly clean but the dining tables felt sticky. I agree with all the positives in the other reviews but our negatives mean we will probably not be staying again, shame maybe the other rooms are different.

We stayed here last week just for one night during our Cotswold tour and on leaving, wished we had been able to stay longer. We received a warm welcome from both the French manager and from one of his staff, Tim. The room we stayed in, The Hunting Room, was beautifully furnished. There were really nice little touches in the room, for example, the information booklet housed in a wooden box resembling a decorative old book and hairdryer in a decorative 'old' wooden box in keeping with the theme of the room. The bathroom was gorgeous with a beautiful deep bath and spacious shower with extra large shower jet. After a little walk around the hamlet we settled on a very comfy leather sofa in the main bar area which had a very relaxed atmosphere. The menu, although not huge is very interesting with some unusual dishes not normally associated I would assume, with a Cotswold pub. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and also very well presented. The manager was very knowledgeable with regards to the wine list and the wines chosen were perfect with the food. We really enjoyed our short stay at The Maytime and will definitely try to stay there again and will recommend it to our friends!! Oh, and the breakfast was also yummy If you are looking for a great pub with good food accommodation then give The Maytime a try!!!
