Lovely down to earth pub. Great food - chicken and ham pie and calves liver and bacon. A real find among over priced and 'touristy' pubs.
The landlord and lady are great - friendly, informative and welcoming. Only pub I would go to in Burford.

I have been visiting this place for years, every time I am passing through Burford. Usually there is a great log fire; this time the landlord apologised for the fact that the chimney was out of order. The food is always good: this time I had a very good steak with all the trimmings, plus excellent Wadworth's 6X.

We stumbled on this great pub at the start of a girlie weekend. The food was excellent and all home made. The Irish landlord was very welcoming and we loved his dry sense of humour. Definitely worth a visit and we will back again another year. Thank you very much!

We often visit Burford, and occasionally stay over. We stayed here for one night. This is definitely a "pub with a couple of rooms", and concentrates on the pub side of things. Nothing wrong with it, just a bit basic as a place to stay and the noise from the extractor fan for the kitchen was a bit of a nuisance. We didn't choose to eat here for our evening meal so can't comment on the food. We did have breakfast - in the bar - nothing wrong, just ok. However this place is quite reasonably priced for Burford.

we reserved a table for 9 for sunday lunch ,the pub was very busy so we had quite a wait i ordered home made chicken mushroom and leek pie with hand cut chips with vegetables which i
would highly reccommend. Two of the party had chilie beef which they thoroughly enjoyed, three had roast beef with mixed results and the two children had burgers in buns which they enjoyed .Overall a good lunch experience and will be going back again
