Comfy beds, good bathroom, flexible sleeping arrangements, private garden, spacious dining area with views of garden.
Easy access to Burford High Street, plenty to do in the area.

“Nice enough but some disappointing aspects”

It looks lovely in the photos and is a pleasant well located property but living in it proved a mixed experience. A noisy dehumidifier in the living room complete with a note saying that it must be kept on and the tank emptied regularly as it would not work otherwise, spoilt our stay. The noise meant we rarely used the living room and the noise could also be heard from the bedroom above which is a problem for light sleepers. (on complaining about this to Manor Cottages I was told I could have turned it off, which is what I suspect other guests had done as there was a smell of damp and it was full and not on when we arrived, but we followed the instructions on the note and did what we were told although we had been given no forewarning of this issue and we did not really expect to be emptying a dehumidifier on our holiday) Also no wi-fi in an area with a poor phone signal was a definite problem. Thirdly, there are no wardrobes which caused a bit of an issue particularly as we were staying for a week. This was especially difficult in the main bedroom with two of us having to hang things in a small space with a few wall hooks and coat hangers which was totally impractical. The bathroom is very nicely renovated but absolutely tiny with a very low ceiling. `The location is good with nice pubs and other facilities within easy walking distance. The cottage is on a relatively quiet road away from the noisy busy main street. Its a good cottage for someone taking a dog (although we didn't take ours) One dog is allowed and most of the pubs in Burford are dog friendly. There are also good dog walks near the cottage and an enclosed secure garden.

Management Response
18 Aug 2015
Tannery Cottage is a very old Cotswold stone cottage that has recently undergone a complete renovation. The dehumidifier is a very temporary solution and will be removed shortly from the cottage. We apologise if this inconvenienced the guests but this is the first complaint we have had about it and all other guests have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of staying in this charming cottage.

“Quirky cottage. Quite small”

The 3 of us, plus the dog, stayed for a week at the end of May. It is a great spot just on the edge of Burford. The cottage looks fab and has a nice enclosed garden. Property comes equipped with a good kitchen and outdoor seating.
It is quite small. The lounge is tiny, and the bathroom is very small. Bedrooms are ok, but no wardrobe. Note, there is also no wifi which is difficult if visiting with a teenager!
Overall a nice spot, but a bit small for us.
