We stayed 1 night of a long weekend service was welcoming and professional ,rooms typical for these type of buildings ,creaky floors and no straight walls its lovely.
The restaurant food was very good and excellent value for this area.loved the garden and large lawn area wish we had stayed longer.

This is the third time we have eaten in the Mill House restaurant in the last three months. All birthday treats. The service is friendly and courteous. The food is excellent and consistently good. The three course fixed price menu is very good and plenty of choice. We shall return!

I have been to the mill house on a number of occasions. Having arrived at lunchtime on a Saturday, we were told that there would be no food served due to their hosting a wedding reception. No food at all, not even a sandwich! I am afraid that their attitude very much seems to be that if they are catering for large parties, then either locals or visitors who wish to call in for lunch or dinner are not welcome. I have been there before and experienced a similar reception and frankly it is not good enough. I also overheard a couple who walked out of the place having booked a room, but not told that there was a wedding reception being held at the place. The beer is good, and the only reason I have not rated this place 'terrible'. In future, please put a large sign up stating that there is a wedding and therefore there will be no service to 'ordinary' customers!!

As we are local we have been to The Mill several times and have never been disappointed. The service and food has always been excellent. What I like about the service is that it is attentive without being intrusive. In the summer you have the lovely patio and garden, in winter there is a cosy area to have your after dinner coffee or afternoon tea. I personally prefer the bar because you sometimes get big family parties in the restaurant but our friends seem to prefer the restaurant. There are some lovely walks nearby and as dogs are welcome in certain areas of The Mill we have combined a walk with a meal. We have also taken our family there to celebrate a milestone anniversary. Going to The Mill is a truly enjoyable experience and that is what I want from a meal out.

We went here as a party of four and had a most enjoyable meal in the bar restaurant. It was a little crowded but then it was a Friday evening and we had booked. Service was helpful and friendly. I had some beautifully cooked fish and others enjoyed their well prepared meals. Cost with drink about £35 a head which seemed very reasonable considering the quality if the meal. Would recommend it.
