“Excellent Restaurant worth a visit”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Very charming couple running it and great surroundings with a romantic courtyard. Service was first class and the food was creative, local, and good. This little spot is well worth a visit if you are anywhere near the area. They have three charming well-priced rooms too if you are looking for a place to stop for a night.

“Great food, lovely room, excellent service”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

My fiancé and I were on an exhausting journey from South England to Manchester and decided to stop in Chipping Norton for an overnight break. First impression: very cosy little restaurant, charmingly decorated, sophisticated feeling to it. We were welcomed by one of the owners, who promptly sat us at a table and recommended the locally brewed beers. I had a fish/squid dish with fennel and broad beans and my fiancé had a braised pork with frittata. Both dishes absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, full of flavour and just perfect portion size to enjoy all 3 courses. Pudding was likewise amazing: raspberry soufflé was my favourite!
After the meal, we were taken to our room, which had a lovely French-style decoration, TV, tea/coffee amenities, and a nice bathroom. Very comfortable bed and quiet at night.
In the morning, we were served a very healthy yet tasty breakfast freshly prepared by the chef, also one of the owners. Oh, Barney the dog made us some company!
I would highly recommend Wild Thyme if you like a small place with some intimacy and excellent food.

“Absolutely loved it”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

After seeing that Wild Thyme was number 2 on the Telegraph's list of the 'Best Cotswolds Restaurants', we booked a table for dinner during our recent weekend break. We are SO glad we did. We would have walked right by without a second glance if we hadn't booked in advance because the restaurant is nothing remarkable to look at, but the food is wonderful. I wanted to try everything on the menu and could see that other diners' meals all looked delicious. The service was great too - friendly, attentive but not OTT. Will be back when we're next in the area!
