We had a long weekend booked for our annual 'cousins' gathering. The hotel was welcoming and the rooms were very good.
Whether you in the restaurant or the bar, the food is excellent well prepared and presented - and the prices were good.
The staff at reception, in the bar and restaurant, and housekeeping were attentive and seemed proud to make you welcome and to ensure your stay was memorable - well done.

Room Tip: the courtyard rooms were good sunny and comfortable

An old hotel with a mystical charm a very beautiful terrace/garden , food quality is excellent . I strongly recommend restaurant courtyard menu . The leisure center is a nice surprise from a budget hotel , swimming pool, squash court and gym. I totally recommend this place and i will come back soon.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have an excellent view

We booked this last minute and really came up trumps. We were warmly welcomed by the guy on reception, we arrived late in the evening. We arrived in time for dinner, the menu had a good variety of dishes on offer and the quality of food was very good, good sized portions too.

We were given a lovely large bedroom with 4 Poster Bed, good sized bathroom with roll topped bath. As we only stayed one night we didn't get around to using the pool but popped our heads in and it looked great.

Breakfast the next morning was more than we were expecting which was a buffet style. Items on offer were cold meats and cheeses, cereals (including gluten free) and tinned and fresh fruit with yogurts, followed by a good selection of cooked breakfast items which were all very tasty (not that we ate everything on offer!)

On site parking which was very handy and saved on parking charges.

Hotel is very central for visiting the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, we took in Stow On The Wold, Bourton On The Water and Moreton In The Marsh, all of which we can thoroughly recommend.

We are looking forward to returning with our family later on this year.

Room Tip: We didn't ask for an upgrade, when we booked over the phone we booked a standard double room but...

Tired, dated, musty-smelling hotel. Room shabby (without the chic) with cheap furniture. Bathroom grim with small sachets of shampoo and bath gel- who offers guests sachets these days? The shower cut out on me completely but resumed after about 15 minutes. This information was met with enthusiastic indifference by the receptionist. Breakfast was a shambles with no tables clear when we arrived. There was only one poor sod trying to manage about twenty-five guests on his own so we went to get the receptionist to give him a hand to clear some tables. Breakfast food had spent too long under the lights, including the eggs, and as it wasn't the best of quality to start with it certainly wasn't improved by that treatment. It was a relief to see the hotel in my rear view mirror.

Room Tip: Check-in at a different hotel!

A very lovely hotel. Very friendly, good food, nice facilities BUT the room was awful. We stayed just one night but it was too small for 2 people. Absolutely no drawers, hooks or any storage - just a cupboard with 2 hangers inside it. Water runs cold for a long time before heating up and while there is a hand shower, there is no way to hook it up if you want a standup shower. My partner thought that it had not really been changed since the last time she stayed their in the late 1980's.

Room Tip: Don't ask for room 6

I booked a very last minute break and got a standard room for 2 nights B&B for £110.00. So we were very pleasantly surprised to be given the 4 poster room in the coach house. The room was large and comfortable, although the furniture is dated and the hairdryer was missing as soon as I mentioned it to the staff it was replaced. The staff are friendly and helpful. We decided to eat in the bar both nights and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced and it had a good atmosphere with holiday makers and locals eating and drinking, always a good sign when you find the locals using the bar. Breakfast was buffet style on Bank holiday Monday and waiter service on Tuesday both were great with good options. We will stay here again as it well located for lots of the attractions and walking in the Cotswolds. Also bonus it has a good sized swimming pool !
