Just back from a stay at this hotel...oh dear should have read the reviews before going..looking at some of the photos from 4yrs ago nothing has changed. Curtains held on rail by a couple of hooks and tied by string..The wires showing from the rose ceiling. Plug sockets a bit loose, 2 light bulbs out.. Had booked a twin room, 1 bed was a pull out in a room just big enough for this, the quilt on this was paper thin when asked if I could have a blanket I was given another quilt no cover and stained !!!!..the tv should have been in there no aerial socket in main room so had to have tv standing in doorway between 2 rooms...Breakfast ok, presentation could have been much better..every 5min someone asking for something...Looks like they have spent money on a swimming pool...The place needs up dating URGENTLY ...will not be going back

One night stay for business, Really should have read the reviews before booking. Hotel location fantastic but hotel very tired and in need of total refurb. Stayed in Room 33, space adequate but bath room grubby and mouldy, shower temperature impossible to control and the eaves protrudes over the loo so makes it impossible for a gentleman to stand! Light in bedroom flickering with bad connection. Also found staff rude and uninterested in us.

Having travelled for business for many years I have never
experienced such rude hotel staff. As a guest I’ve never been talked to in such a manner and what shocked me was one guy claimed to be the owner. If what i saw and heard is the example the owner sets for his staff it is no wonder we experienced such unbelievable behaviour. Service is such an important part of the total package for a hotel. Customers will vote with there feet if there is not a serious change of attitude at this hotel. Maybe a change of ownership and staff is needed - maybe some serious training would be enough but for now stay well clear of this place is my opinion.

Really looking forward to eating out, as just moved to town.
We were 3rd in line for carvery and wondered why folk standing around with just meat.
The carver had forgotten to take lids off vegetables etc.
The roast potatoes were soggy, parsnips unrecognisable.
Looked firward to rolled turkey breast, but looked a bit too pink on my plate.
Beef a little tough, lamb good.
The carver had the bluntest knives ever. He could not cut a straight piece, so odd wedges were served.
By the way, the toilet handles were disgusting.
It was half the price of another hotel, but certainly not going back sadly.
