“Cosy, good location and friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 March 2014

We stayed at the Row Barge Inn for a quiet night away in Henley. It was well located just off the town square and we parked in the large car park nearby although it is possible to park outside.

We were given a different room from our original booking as the terrible storms had damaged one of the windows so we were put in a room at the front of the Inn. It was very cosy and warm with a great memory foam bed. The only downsides were that the sign outside the Inn creaked rather a lot in the wind so was quite loud when trying to sleep but would only be an issue in terrible weather, I think we were just unlucky! The ensuite was also quite small with not much privacy from the bedroom.

However, breakfast was very nice and staff were very friendly and helpful and made no fuss finding us a different room from our original booking due to weather issues. Overall a nice welcoming place to stay far enough away from the square that you are not woken up by the local market being set up or people coming out of pubs and restaurants in the evening and the noise from the pub below didn't bother us.

We stayed here for one night recently. OK, but really not keen on the “ensuite” having no door, would like to have been told before booking to make an informed choice. The bed, as a previous reviewer has stated was hugely comfortable, it has a memory foam mattress & they are amazing. The room is clean & warm, although the bathroom windows need the old black mould removing (not a good look). My wife would have liked one of the three heaters stored in various drawers to have been a hairdryer, a bath towel that was marginally bigger than a postage stamp and a net curtain over the window as the neighbours are far too close. The breakfast was good and served with a smile. We would stay here again, just not in the same room!

Myself, boyfriend and 4 mates stayed at the Row Barge for New Year. We hired 3 of the 4 rooms in the pub which were all really nice. We were in the big one with the sofa. Awesome comfy huge bed - only down side was no door on the ensuite - so you need to very close to the perso you are sharing with!
Really friendly staff, a fun late night on New Years eve and awesome hangover breakfasts the day after.

We stayed for one night 9th November, lovely cosy place, staff really friendly and a lovely breakfast to boot! We will definitely use this place again when staying in Henley! They do have live music so it may be worth checking with them first, it didn't bother us but it may do some.

I escaped here after a less-than-satisfactory couple of nights somewhere else, and it was just what I was looking for: cosy, friendly, and quiet. Essentially it's a B&B business in a pub, central but not too close to the market area which can be a bit noisy.

Stayed 2 nights at the Row Barge whilst in Henley for a PureStretch course. I was lucky enough to get a parking spot outside, as parking in Henley is not easy and even accomodation in Henley itself is hard to find. The Row Barge is within easy walking reach of everything in Henley (shops, station, river, etc) and just around the corner from my course venue. As others have already said, the place has character, winding stairs to negociate and charming (very clean rooms) with comfortable beds and a great power shower. The staff were exceptionally welcoming at all times and took time out to have a chat, which is appreciated when travelling alone. You can order breakfast (whatever you want, as the chef will cook prepare it for you) for a specific time and it was delicious. The whole place has character and even though I did not eat in the restaurant (homework to do), I heard from the locals that the food was always fantastic. It is an Inn/pub and noise is expected, but it was not too bad, just a little merry making and I had checked beforehand to make sure that there were no wedding or birthday celebrations during my stay. I felt safe and cosy and very comfortable. Hope to visit again when visiting next. Thank you everyone at the Row Barge..

Stayed here for one night last minute! The guys there were really helpful, fitting us in. The room was great with a really comfy bed and the breakfast was delicious - enough to fill you up all day! The staff were really knowledgeable about the local area and what is on throughout the year. We will definitely be back to this lovely pub and B&B with the wood burning fire going on cold nights!
