This is a B&B with three rooms over the bar. The rooms are well furnished and it's a two minute walk to the center of town. The couple who run the B&B are friendly and helpful. The bar itself is populated by a small cast of locals who are not welcoming to "outsiders," not offering the slightest effort to make the traveler feel at home. Not so much as a 'hello" or "Where are you from?" Then again, there's a number of other venues in Henley where they are pleased to see visitors. This aside, it's a nice spot -- but would be ever so slightly nicer were the local bar crowd a bit more engaging to the guests...even a nod of the head would have been nice.

When we arrived I think we walked in on a wake as there seemed to be a lot of unhappy people, but the staff were cheery and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, with the charm an old building affords. I would, not recommend for anybody with walking difficulties as access to the room is via the bar, avoiding the cellar trap door and up steep stairs with low ceilings. I crawled up to my room that night and it wasn't because of the booze. The cooked breakfast was fantastic!

Well a lovely pub indeed tucked in the center of Henley on Thames just far enough away from the hustle & bustle of the the town center. Just a stones throw from the town hall up the hill into a delightful pub with good food & ambience. Staff very friendly & more than helpful. Locals very chatty & friendly would recommend to anyone. Very good accommodation for the price. Will be going here again.

Straight up the hill from the town centre is the Rowbarge Inn. Perfect old inn, great beer, good ambiance. And good comfy beds after a long day on the Thames Path. Staff were exceedingly helpful, arranging FEB (Full English Breakfast) to order and making sure we had what we needed. Highly recommended by a couple of old codgers.

Room Tip: Be aware the rooms are up stairs with the usual low headroom common to old houses :)

Stayed here 2 weeks ago, perfect location as we wanted to be close to the Tough Mudder race but within walking distance of town. Staff were very friendly and the food (evening meal and breakfast) was very good quality and value. Comfortable bed and everything we needed.
Would definitely stay here again (yes the en suite didn't have a door but this didn't bother us too much). The landlord even donated money to beating bowel cancer after hearing about Dan doing Tough Mudder to raise money for them!
