This is a perfectly acceptable pub with a good selection of lunches in the centre of Henley. Ideal if you are shopping, visiting or passing through in need of refreshment.
There are plenty of places to choose from to eat in Henley - and we have enjoyed each place we have visited.
We stopped here for lunch before going to the Regal cinema - we both chose the day's pie - beef and mushroom - good chunks of lean meat, nice crispy pie topping, large selection of vegetables to complete a satisfying meal.
We will add The Argyll to our list.

Hi

thank you for the positive review, we use the best local ingredients available, the majority of our meat comes from Gabriel Machins butchers a few doors down from us. We make all our traditional 'proper' pies on site, they are one of our most requested dishes.
We now stock a large range of bottled and cask ales that are great for pairing with different foods.

Sat outside at the argyle. We were warmly welcomed and offered drinks. One of the bar team was in her first day , and even she was a credit to the team. We ordered jacket potato with tuna and a small size Sunday lunch. Both were delicious, filling and served in warm plates. We had two drinks also and the bill was around £20. This is a great place on the high street in henley. Good character pub and very friendly staff. We shall return here

Hi

thank you for taking the time to write a review for our pub The Argyll, it is very much appreciated.
We work hard to provide a positive experience for our customers, We are a busy pub that attracts a wide range of customers from all parts of the world, We are not trying to achieve Michelin star status but provide good quality food and drink for people who like the pub experience. We have been running the pub for nine years and are still learning and improving our offer. Feedback is essential for us to continue to grow our business. Our staff are all good people, they are professional and personable with our guests and each other.

Thank you.

The Argyll has a welcoming atmosphere and is great for a drink as it has a good choice of ales and other drinks.

The seating area outside is also very nice for a central town location.

I haven't tried the food, although the menu looks yummy :)

Totally overpriced for the lack of atmosphere and ambience.
£14 charged for glass of prosecco and chambord really disgusting when across the road it is just £7, beer was somewhat flat on requesting another was nothing different
Decor is slightly dated and the food substandard considering the price would not recommend.
