I visited the Patisserie Valerie in Henley this morning, on a bright sunny day. I sat outside with my friend and my dog, as there is a pleasant seating area on the pavement, next to Starbucks. Sadly the staff were using a really nasty and dirty mobile clearing trolley, rather than a more suitable unit that could be moved, making it feel a bit too "canteen" for my liking.
The service was reasonable, without being swift and you were left wondering if it was all going to work out. Well it did, without any major mishaps and the food and drink arrived on time. The coffee , a double espresso, was made well but we had to ask for sugar. The cake, a chocolate mousse slice was not too sweet, but just too big. Cant complain about that really.
We also had a cranberry juice and a yoghurt and honey. It was all fine, but not remarkable. The price was just under £13. Perfectly acceptable but could be so much nicer if they improved the outside seating area with some (moveable) but better quality support stations.
