Chiltern Valley Bed & Breakfast
Reviewed 26 February 2014

Having been given a 'wine tour' voucher for Christmas, and heading towards Oxford for other reasons, we decided to stay at the B & B before a tour the following day. We spent a very comfortable night and had a great breakfast - what wonderful sausages. The manager of the B & B was very friendly.

The only one issue was that their internet connection was down, following the storms, and it would have been helpful to have been made aware of this when we arrived.

Our stay was a present and what a perfect one it turned out to be, after checking in to our room we went on the tour and tasting, fun and educational. Our room was comfortable, service was personal and friendly.once we checked out after a hearty tasty breakfast we went sightseeing, what a lovely part of the country. Overall we could not have wished for a more perfect trip away.

Lovely family run hotel, very clean & tidy, with an excellent breakfast served up by Donald - well done to all - I've already recommended you to many people already - bear in mind we travelled 175 miles from Norfolk - well worth the trip!

We stayed here overnight in order to partake in the morning brewery and wine tour and tasting and enjoyed our stay so much we extended it another night to make the most of the beautiful surroundings and most comfortable bed and breakfast. The farmhouse breakfast was one of the best we have ever had.

Stayed after the Winery & Brewery tour, which was excellent, after the tasting!!! Which was far too seductive and we spent too much!!!
The Farmhouse was beautiful and the rooms lovely and well presented, as well as extremely clean with comfortable beds.
The farmhouse breakfast was good, disappointingly lacking sausages!!!!
The proprietors were very friendly and helpful and we had a lovely relaxing, if short, break.
we had no problems with staff, milk or anything else. Everything was made very clear and we registered our preferred breakfast time. Nothing was too much trouble and we were even offered more coffee and more toast. We even asked for a recommendation for a pub meal, and were told which were close and good. Would recommend! Very quiet and lovely views. Watching the Red Kites was fascinating, as well as the woodpeckers. Lovely, lovely place and lovely people. BUT... please make it clear on the website that you have a hot tub and pool!!!??? I would have used the hot tub if I had come prepared!!!!

Room Tip: All have a view but the Vineyard view was lovely.

Dear valued customer,
I am glad you enjoyed the stay and tour here and you thought the Farmhouse was a lovely place to stay after the tour day.
Thank you for your feedback about the sausages and we are looking into putting this on the breakfast menu.
Also about the hot tub and pool, as the B&B has only been running for not even a year yet and we had a new website recently we haven't been able to make it that clear on the website yet. It is something we very much will do and again thanks for your feedback. Also the online booking of the rooms has only started recently as we are trying to get more info on their about our lovely business.

thanks and see you again soon.

My husband and I stayed in the B&B overnight on the 23 July in order to take part in the wine tasting tour. The room was really lovely, very clean, lovely comfortable bed and a delightful victorian bath and shower. The bath is huge and the shower a real experience (it also has a modern shower head so you don't miss out on anything). We found the staff to be very helpful and it was made quite clear to us that breakfast finished at 9.30 and we were asked at what time we would like it. There is a lovely garden and a small swimming pool and hot tub (which is not made clear enough on the website, please take note owners as I did not know to take a swimming costume). The sitting room is very comfortable and homey and the breakfast room very pretty and the breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice indeed. We did indeed also have sour milk in the fridge so couldn't make coffee but I am quite sure that it was fresh when the housekeeper put it in there as we made tea when we arrived and that was fine. I think it must have been that the fridge didn't work very well. She is certainly not the sort of person who wouldn't care whether it was fresh or not. We had such a nice stay that we didn't even mention it. My only negative thought was that the bedroom curtain lining could do with replacing just to make the room perfect. The tour was also really nice, lots of lovely tastings, not just wine but beer and liquers also. Would certainly recommend and it's in such a pretty part of the country too, lots of lovely pubs and walks nearby.

Stayed overnight at the Chiltern Valley Bed & Breakfast after attending the tour of the Vineyard and Brewery. Our room (Barn view room) was delightful - the bathroom was huge. There was also a wonderful large lounge and beautiful gardens where you can sit. Breakfast was very good and the service was marvellous. We would definitely recommend both the tour and the B & B.
