Owner description: ‘Hobbs of Henley is situated on the banks of the River Thames in Henley and is steeped in history and tradition. Boasting 5 generations of experience and 2 Royal Waterman amongst their staff, nobody is better placed than them to help you discover the beauty of the River Thames. Whether it is aboard one of their large luxury passenger vessels for a private or corporate party, hiring one of their motor launches for a self drive adventure, sipping champagne aboard one of their Edwardian or Olympic launches, a sightseeing trip along the Royal Regatta Course or a luxurious boating holiday….there really is something for everyone. Or if you are looking to buy a boat but not sure about the commitment then Hobbs of Henley launched a new luxury membership boating scheme last year – The Henley Boat Club. This scheme is an opportunity to enjoy a fleet of beautifully maintained self drive motor launches without the hassle of ownership and the costs involved with this. Henley Boat Club ‘Membership Boating’ is the easy way to take to the river whenever you want to safe in the knowledge that your boat is maintained and looked after by an experienced family business with over 147 years of boating experience’.

There were four of us friends celebrating and we booked this just as something to do after staying a night in a hotel - it was delightful. The boat was like an old steamer so we really felt the part. The jazz was lovely - 3 young guys who were fantastic musicians playing a great selection of really good quality jazz throughout our trip on the Thames. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had horrible memories of being crammed in on boat trips abroad but this was great. It felt more like being in a select club rather than a boat trip with plenty of space. The food was excellent and exceptionally plentiful. A freshly roasted gammon and gorgeous salads with a good range of options for the vegetarians. We could have as much as we liked and were invited to go 'back for seconds'. It wasn't a menu choice but who could complain for the price. It was all freshly prepared and we left the boat absolutely full. I would recommend this to anyone and will definitely be returning for another cruise - maybe one of the themed cruises- very soon. Thank you Hobbs of Henley

Loved our family outing on 'Hibernia'. Costs: Adults £7.50 Child £5.
It was one level with outdoors eating at the front for taking great pics, then plenty of seating area in doors...which was handy as had a little shower. There is also a bar on board and clean toilets. I would rate this for disabled/wheelchairs/prams as wide enough to get in and out. The trip was just over an hour with adequate commentary.
Overall a great experience in Henley and the crew were friendly.
