When my family suggested going to visit Christ Church, I was a bit taken aback by the idea of visiting a university when I have already seen a million universities.. but this is really something else. It was spectacular! And the man who worked there was so lovely and obviously enjoyed talking to the tourists and guests, which made a change to most other places! It was fabulous! One of the rare beautiful sites of England

Christ Church may be rather commercial in charging for a look around but there is plenty to see - Harry Potter film locations, Alice in Wonderland references, beautiful Cathedral, lovely quads. I went to 'the other place' but brought my girls (8 and 11 years) here to see what Oxford can offer by way of atmosphere and sheer charisma. I think it worked. Peep through the doors of other colleges that are free to visit but tour Christs to get a real feel for this wonderful university.

The Christ Church College is really impressing. The architecture as well as the Hall, the Potraits and the cathedrale.

This is another perl of Oxford. Must visit... can't miss it.
The atmosphere is really impressive. Take the guided tour...really great value for your money. The gardens outside are fantastic and inside you can see where the film shooting took place...evev though they say the film was "photoshopped" to look better.

Nearly a 20 minute line to get in, but I persisted only because I really wanted to visit the cathedral. The Harry Potter fans in front of me were extremely excited about the hall - the staff member in there was actually quite rude to them when they touched the table. I'm not saying they should have touched it, but her comment that they don't pay 12000 pounds a year was extremely inappropriate in my opinion, a simple please do not touch would have been more than sufficient. Any of the tourists could be prospective students and the staff should remember that - comments like that put Christ Church off the list, because if that is how visitors are spoken too, I can't imagine the study experience would be any better or worth the 12000 pounds.

The cathedral is interesting, and the staff in there were the compete opposite of the hall, asking where people came from, offering help and answering questions, and the film at the end is a bit interesting.

Overall though, it is not the best of the colleges. The lines everywhere, the herding like sheep, and to be honest of the 8 or so colleges I have visited over the past few days, it was far from the most picturesque or interesting. I guess Harry Potter fans might think otherwise.
