Old Bank (sister to Old Parsonage) is a convenient central hotel and I also often use this hotel when on business in Oxford. It has less character than the Old Parsonage but is more central. The Quod Bar restaurant has a much nicer outside eating area and I think that the food is a little better than at the Old Parsonage but again it lacks the character of the Old Parsonage.

The rooms are quite small (some very small) but all are very smart and clean. I have always found that they have very good service.

If you need a central Oxford Hotel and don't mind the small rooms then this is a great choice if you can afford the (slightly over-priced) cost.

Thanks for your review

I'm glad you enjoyed the hotel.

We have a range of room sizes at the Old Bank. The larger rooms tend to be at the front of the hotel while the quieter rooms are at the rear.

See you next time.

The staff were lovely and so willing to help with anything that we asked. I would recommend this hotel because it is so comfortable and centrally located in Oxford. It has parking and is in the heart of everything. I loved the modern art work on all the walls and the library had some really interesting books. I honestly couldn't fault anything and we will certainly visit again.

We chose this hotel because of its excellent location in central Oxford and because it also offered parking. We were delighted by the quality of the hotel. The room was very well equipped, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large with a separate bath and shower cubicle. The art works around the hotel were interesting and added to its ethos. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We had breakfast in Quod and can recommend it. We will return next time we're in Oxford.

Thanks very much for your review

Glad to hear the staff looked after you well.

We are quite glad that we have a good amount of parking - Oxford as a whole can be problematic so it certainly helps.

Difficult to find car park but after a phone call to the hotel easily guided in. The staff are wonderful nothing is too much trouble. Hotel very clean the rooms are a touch small compared to a lot of hotels I have stayed in. Breakfast is a big let down, more care should be taken with the fruit, squashed Blueberries dusty Strawberries. There should be more in the full English, one sausage, one mushroom, spoon full of beans just wont do it. A must is the 2.00 tour very entertaining and the time just flew past.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room

Glad you liked the hotel and the staff.

Sorry your breakfast was not up to scratch. It certainly should have been. It's such an important part of the stay.

See you next time.

We spent a couple of nights visiting our old home town of Oxford, where we regularly return. The Old Bank Hotel beats both the Randolph and the Oxford Prison hotel on all counts. It is worth the extra. Only tip: the Quod restaurant is so good, you don't really need to visit the sister restaurant, Gee's, on the Banbury Road, unless you are looking for the full white tablecloth experience.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms overlooking the slightly noisy High street.
