I stayed here with a female friend last August and it was fantastic. It's in the centre of Oxford and couldn't get much closer to all of the action and sites. The service was great as you would expect from a 5-star hotel like this and the room was very comfortable. Our bathroom was accessed via a step, which was a bit weird but as long as you were careful, it was fine. There wasn't a good view from our room but we didn't stay there for the view anyway so that didn't concern us. Breakfast was lovely, cooked and continental were included in our room so we ate like kings! Definitely has to be one of the best, if not the best, hotel in Oxford. All hotels we now stay in have a high standard to meet!

Room Tip: High up may be quieter

My husband I stayed at this hotel for one night. It was a great location, right across from the Ashmolean and in the center of the city. I had mistakenly booked for the following night, but the check-in person was so nice about it. He found us a room and didn't charge us extra.
We stayed in the newer wing. The room was wonderful, clean and quiet. However, be warned that it is a very long, strange walk to this wing. You go up to the first floor then follow many signs up and down stairs to get to your room. Very odd.
However, I have no complaints about this hotel. They held our luggage and let us park for an extra few hours before we left. Great stay.

stayed 1 night on a business conferance very impressive
consierge is the best of any hotel i have stayed in highly professional and well organised
this is nessacery as the limited car parking space (chargeable) fill s up quickly and thae park the car 4 you
as with this oldertown center hotel you can be unlucky and get a room which after finding your way through a labrynth of corridoors you get there eventually
the standard of the room was exellent large airy/huge bed/all the extras you are likely to need
ironing board /spare fan/spare heater/plenty of tea and coffee complimentry bottled water (hope it is) safe
huge bathroom with seperate walk in shower spotlessly clean
turn down service offerd with chocholates
breakfast very efficiant although portions small but everything is beautifally presented the porridge especialy with the honey is a nice touch
overall super hotel plenty of nice touches we were not paying so not sure of the cost assume its not cheap but for exploring oxford from the centre perfect location
straw bear

Room Tip: check out the price for car parking if you are there a few days you could get hit with a big bill

Recently organised a 150 seat celebratory dinner at in the Randolph's Ballroom. The organisation beforehand, and on the evening was superb, and the staff only too happy to help, and flexible to odd requests. The food was fantastic and commented on by many and for such a location good value. A brilliant evening enjoyed by all.
