Lovely peaceful hotel in the outskirts of Oxford with plenty of parking & only a £4 taxi ride into the centre of town. Our bedroom was very tastefully decorated with stylist bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, both the quality of food & the service. Bar food was good and reasonably priced. Beds were super comfortable! Only slight complaint was the room heating took a long time to heat up then was too hot to sleep in.

My wife and I stayed at the Hawkwell House Hotel for one night in September. The food was great and the service is very good. The Hotel is situated a few miles from the center of Oxford and is quite easy to get back and forth to the Hotel.

The breakfast was quite good with the waiters serving you not buffet.
This can take a while for them to serve you but at least the food is freshly cooked fore you.

Room Tip: Try and stay in the Hotel itself as there are rooms situated outside the hotel in other building. If...

We stayed here last week, room 108... newly renovated, a huge room with a superking bed, new bathroom (shower and bath) and very nicely finished. No views, but plenty of skylights which were nice... especially with one looking up into the branches of a tree.

To improve: TV was a little small and water pressure in the bathroom was poor, not much choice at breakfast (but then I'm a bit of a baked beans fiend).

On the hotel door it's rated as a 3* but I've stayed in a lot of less comfortable 4/5* hotels! For £89 for the night, with full breakfast for two the next morning it's an absolute bargain... we were very happy and if we're in the area will be back without hesitation.

Room Tip: We asked a room away from any celebrations (they do some events/weddings), we didn't hear anythi...

We had a very enjoyable long weekend at Hawkwell House. Our room overlooked a lovely garden, it was nicely furnished with the best hotel bed I've slept in for ages! The bathroom was very modern, smart and very large.
Our price included a meal in the restaurant and for an extra £5.00 we upgraded to the a la carte menu. The food was really good, well presented and we were given a decent sized portion. Breakfast was the expected fare, served promptly and hot.
The hotel bar was pleasant but expensive. The lounge television showed live world cup rugby which was appreciated by all of our party and many other guests too!
The bonus was free parking which was difficult to find in Oxford.

Lovely place with nice gardens and village appeal. A short walk to the bus to town, or a longer stroll.
The bath in the bedroom is not very practical. Breakfast was made to order but tasted average at best.
Overall good value, nice place.

Room Tip: Avoid bath in the bedroom.

When we arrived we were given the key to a room in what appreared to be an additional house in the grounds of the hotel, the room did not have a seperate bathroom, the bath was in tne bedroom, really suitable for a honey couple, outside of the window was a skip overflowing with carpets and building rubbish from what appreared to be hotel renovations. I called reception and discussed and was invited to look at another room, the second room was really large and very good. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good. Breakfast was cooked to order and also very quick and good, we had a meal in tne bar lounge one night and enjoyed our food and the pleasant atmosphere.
The river walk is very good for you if you are teavelling and eating in restaurants for six weeks as we were doing. Well you could drive into Oxford if preferred. Oxford is also very interesting in the centre and the uni.
