We stayed at the hotel for a wedding. Customer service was good and our room was ready much earlier than the advertised time of 3pm.

The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom very smart and sparkling clean. The curtain arrangement looked good but didn't block out the light which meant our toddler woke at 5. Ask for a room without a loft window to avoid this.

Bar service was ok.

Main disappointment was the cooked breakfasts. Eggs Benedict was just plain weird with a really thin layer of sauce which was grilled so ended up being a tough thin skin on poached eggs- quite unpleasant. Pancakes and kedgeree also tasted pre cooked and just no brilliant. A pity as the cooked options menu was inventive.

I recently organised a weekend break for a group of friends . Hawkwell House provided an excellent venue. We had a private dining room on both evenings and the food was very good. Post the recent refurbishment this was very good value

Hawkwell House was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The major issue was with parking. When booking we were told there was on site parking and no reservation was needed. In arrival we were informed that there was no available parking due to a wedding and that we would have to find street parking. It would perhaps been more appropriate to ask nin resudent wedding guests without luggage to park on the street. In addition to having to unload tge car tgen attempt to fibd street parking we were offered no assistance with our luggage. A little disappointing

Stayed in one of the outhouses at Hawkwell Hotel, Oxford for 5 nights as it was only place we could find. Hawkwell Hotel has 3 buildings, one main one that is quite modern and two others which where probably either staff quarters or guest houses for the main old estate. Our converted house had really nothing to offer, small windows, many many narrow stairs, no view, basically just a very soft double bed with overused pillows. We booked bed and breakfast, so ate in the dining room which was located in the main hotel every morning. Breakfast finishes at 09.30am so if you fancy a lie in forget it!!

We got wet walking from one building to the other as there is no option but to walk down, there is no shelter!

Every morning we asked for soft fried eggs, English style every day, and never got them. They always arrived hard, by the 3rd day wife gave up and had an omelette instead. The foreign staff did not really know what an english Breakfast was. By the 4th morning they had run out of marmalade!

The only good thing was the free parking!

If you must stay here, make sure you are in the main hotel, maybe those guests get a difference experience!

Room Tip: Make sure you are in the main hotel building not one of the out houses. Come early to get a parking...

A lovely old building with a contemporary interior style and lots of open garden space. The hotel was perfect for a large group weekend and we were very well looked after by the staff. I had a couple of niggles (room was hot, restaurant ran out of menu items) but the overall atmosphere, quality and service more than compensated. It is a charming place for a weekend exploring Oxford if you like you're hotel with a bit of style.

Room Tip: It was extremely warm and there is no aircon. If you need a cool room, you'll need to ask for a...

Just returned from a lovely 3 day stay here. Our room was large, airy, clean and well appointed. Good shower and bed (2 main essentials for me) with lovely big opening windows with view over gardens and annexe. Food in restaurant very good in quantity and quality, lovely set up with the Lloyd Loom chairs and modern decor. All staff went out of their way to make this an enjoyable and relaxing stay for us. Thanks guys.....

We stayed for two nights in the Elm house. The room (410) was not large, hardly space to walk around the bed, with a open wardrobe. The first night we had Dinner in the Hotel Restaurant, which is a extremly loud place. The staff was primarly students which no or very little service expierience. The Food itself was fine. We were looking for a nice and cosy restaurant but this was not Fund on the premises.
The prices are likely to high for what get, either lower the rates or improve with the service.

Room Tip: Room 410 is very tiny and has a Open wardrobe. But rooms in the Elm house are quiet.
