Share the comfort of this lovely hotel, situated in the very center of British culture and spirit.
Everything Works. The rooms, the peasant lounge, but most of all the staff of this unique spot.
A place to rejoice, and to return to.

I enjoyed a brief one night stay here in this comfortable hotel. Its location in the centre of Oxford is very appealing and would be most convenient for a longer visit to the city.
The bed was comfortable and the room was pleasant. Okay, it was on the lower ground floor and overlooked the car park, but I wasn't there for the view.
Breakfast was excellent and enjoyable. All the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. If I need a hotel in Oxford again, I would stay here.

This hotel's location is great and comes with parking space. The staff is lovely and very helpful. HOWEVER, there are many things need to be replaced in the room. Mattress are old and must be replace. Rug in the room are old. Doors do not fit. When closing the door, you have to pull the door real hard. The closing sound and the vibration could be felt and heard 2-3 rooms next to it.
Replacement is urgently needed.

Dear Samjaras
Thank you for your feedback, I am pleased that the team were able to help you and that you enjoyed your stay.
I am afraid the hotel is old and full of history, however we are refurbishing 2 bedrooms this month, as pilot rooms prior to the remaining bedrooms being refurbished over the coming 6 months. We are noting all guest feedback and hope to make the appropriate improvements to enhance ones stay.
I thank you for your constructive feedback, and I hope we will have the poleasure of welcoming you back in the future,
Kind regards

The hotels location at the east end of the High Street is its main feature and that there is on-site parking - although, annoyingly there is a daily charge of £15. Breakfast is good value at £10 combining a buffet and menu items including, for example, Eggs Benedict. Wi-fi is free but they have limited TV stations both in the room and the bar - no sports channels.
The hotel exterior is lovely and the main public rooms are nice but the bedrooms and corridors are 'tired' and the a/c and plumbing are noisy. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear are quiet other than the a/c and plumbing.

Thank you for your feedback, I am pleased that the team were able to help you and that you enjoyed yours stay.
I am afraid the hotel is old and full of history, however we are refurbishing 2 bedrooms this month, as pilot rooms prior to the remainder of the hotel being refurbished over the coming 6 months. We are taking on board all guest feedback, however due to the structure and age of the building, we will not be able to increase the width of the corridors.
We do charge for parking in the hotel car park, as we have limited space and to ensure our residents do have a space, there is I am sorry a charge overnight.
I thank you for your constructive feedback, and I hope we will have the poleasure of welcoming you back in the future,

As with most of the buildings in Oxford, the exterior is old and stunning. Reception staff very helpful. Some of the walls could do with a new lick of paint and furnishings need replacing (eg stains on carpets/lampshades etc. The restaurant is very modern in décor. As the building is old, you can hear people walking around in the corridors, rooms above. .Stayed in a privilege room with nespresso machine, slipper robe and soft drinks included in the price (£20 extra) which is good. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and dinner the night prior in the High Table Restaurant was good. My daughter was drying her hair prior to dinner, when the drier decided to burn out! (literally) I took the offending drier to reception, they located another and promptly brought it to the room apologising and also reassuring my daughter that they had tested the replacement. My daughters husband joined us for breakfast and was allowed to park the car in the hotel car park which was a bonus, as parking is restricted in Oxford. We did ask if they had any cocktails and were told they did, although they had no menu, which should have been a warning.....mojitos were recommended.....I think they forgot to put the sugar in, sharpest mojito I have ever encountered, In general had a good stay and the staff were very good.

Room Tip: maybe ask for a room on the second floor, you then won't hear people above walking around in the...

Dear Karen L
Thank you for your good and indepth feedback, greatly appreciative and good for all the team and a huge morale boost.
I am afraid that some of the bedrooms are slightly dated, however we are starting a major refurbishment of the bedrooms with the 2 pilot bedrooms next month following by the remaining bedrooms in coming months. Due to the age, structure and hisr=tory of the building I do apologise for the delay in the refurbishment programme, we have a date and hope to complete by the beginning of 2015.
I hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the hotel in the future

We booked a two night stay which we really enjoyed.

We used the valet car parking which is £15 per day. If you plan to park check the hotel for directions as the road signs are a bit confusing. Also there is a tight turn and narrow arch and some large cars (4x4) may struggle.

Our room was one of the newer ones and was large and quiet. It was clean and well presented though the wooden bath panel could do with replacing.

Reception (Anna) was very helpful.

We had dinner which was v good and had excellent service though it was perhaps a tad expensive.

Breakfast was excellent, again with great staff.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Dear Andy and Mella
Thank you for your kind feedback - greatly appreciated by the team and a huge morale boost, thank you.
We have taken on board the directions into the hotel, and we are looking at the car park entrance but we are very limited due to the age and structure of the building.
I was pleased that you had enjoyed breakfast and dinner, we have recently upgraded our cold breakfast buffet and introduced a new dinner menu - it is great to receive feedback
We look forward to welcoming you back to the future
