We were in oxford for university open days....this hotel was very centrally located and walking distance to most colleges and the city centre.

Staff were very helpful and always smiling.

Breakfast was great.

Dear SkenrekaP

Thank you for your kind, really appreciated and a huge morale boost for the team.

Oxford is a beautiful and historic city and we are located in the centre directly opposite the main examination hall and surrounded by a number of various colleges for Oxford university.

We have now moved into our new restaurant - Keepers Kitchen and Bar, which is totally different from before and we are enjoying the new environment along with the challenges of a new layout.

Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we trust you had a safe journey home

Kind regards

Great little hotel, very friendly staff and good food. Parking not ideal and £20 per night parking fee that we were not aware of.
Loved Oxford, a small compact Cambridge.
Defiantly worth a visit.
It was final exam week when we went and boy there was some fun had.

Oxford is a busy and vibrant city and we are at present very lucky to have parking on site, it is an added bonus for the hotel.

We were in Oxford for four nights for the "Map the System" event. This was one of the two hotels we could book through the program. For us, it was an excellent choice. It is centrally located. The service was very good. My room was nice, bright and pleasant. Very clean. The main downside was that the air conditioner in my room was very weak and so the temperature was uncomfortable. I finally asked for a fan and used it my last two days.
Breakfast was good and expansive. Certainly enough to tide you over until lunch or beyond. It was exam time, so we witnessed several of the traditions surrounding that which was very interesting. Friendly people at the desk to answer questions and give directions. I would not hesitate to stay here again. No elevator up to the 3rd floor though.

Dear Scenic Sights,
We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel and it was great to welcome you back.
As you know Oxford is a busy and vibrant city and can be extremely busy throughout the year, especially when it is the examination period for Oxford University followed by graduations.
We have suffered from a broken down air conditioning unit which blew out one copmpressor. We did manager to keep the system going however the company has supplied a new compressor this week and we are up and in full operation by the end of the wee.
We have now moved into our new restaurant - Keepers Kitchen and Bar, which is totally different from before and we are enjoying the new environment along with the challenges of a new layout.

This time around I did no enjoy the allocated room on the 3rd floor - # 301. Breakfast should have a few more options. Nice Lobby but missed the Lobby Bar. Nice Location in Central Oxford. This time the Rate was also steep for a classic room.

Dear Climber 51249298248,
Thank you for your recent review regarding your stay at the Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel, last week and I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay as much as in previous stays.
Oxford is a busy and vibrant city and we are at present very lucky to have parking on site, it is an added bonus for the hotel.I am afraid the hotel is over 100 years old, listed and was originally 4 townhouses and now one building, which does restrict the size of some the bedrooms mainly down to age and the structure.
We have now moved into our new restaurant - Keepers Kitchen and Bar, which is totally different from before and we are enjoying the new environment along with the challenges of a new layout.
June and July are the busiest times in Oxford, with examinations and graduations taking place and in very high demand which can affect demand and the price.
Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we trust you had a safe journey home
Kind regards

I stayed three nights with work. The first room I was allocated was very small and had a couple of issues. These were resolved quickly by a very helpful member of staff and they were also able to move me to a larger room for the remainder of my stay. I was very grateful for this and the second room was much better.
Breakfast was lovely and the staff coped very well when it was busy with large groups. I didn't have to wait long for freshly cooked food or drinks. I also ate dinner in the restaurant twice, it having been recommended by the gentleman who checked me in. I really enjoyed both meals and would definitely recommend it. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
