Museums can be exhausting, so I always select a few things and give them quality time rather than run around madly trying to cram everything in. On this occasion as it was a first visit I cherry picked the Cezanne exhibition (really good) and the rest of the era in surrounding galleries. I was not disappointed, and thoroughly enjoyed seeing some new pieces by artists we all think we know well. The Manet of the girl in a round hat was sublime (Cezanne exhibition) and the Sickert of a Paris street (permanent exhibit) were two of my favourites. There also seemed to be alot of well organised and displayed artefacts from across history that were very tempting, but next time...
The cafe was also a real surprise. As a vegan I managed to find a wrap and a salad which were not just serviceable, but really tasty!!! Soul and stomach both satisfied.
