I've been here several time and can never get over the wonderful mix of exhibits ... simply breathtaking. A trip to Oxford wouldn't be complete without going to the Ashmolean ... Plan to spend a full day there; there's so much to see.

Recently renovated, the new Ashmolean is a beautiful backdrop to the amazing collection. The collection is an outstanding representation of the results of English archeology and trade. The museum is not as large or overwhelming as the British museum, and that makes it easy to wander into galleries one does not ordinarily go into. An added bonus beyond the ancient finds, which we were expecting, is the nice but surprising collection of PIssaros!

This was a great place to visit. I found it light and airy and easy to view the art without feeling crowded. There was also lots of seating to so you could take a rest. We also visited the cafe which was quite pricy but the food was good quality. There werent a lot of snacks available though mostly meals but they serve great coffee. We spent a few hours there but there's that many treasures to see you could easily stay in there most ot the day. Would re-visit if I went back to Oxford.

Had never been here before and really enjoyed our visit. Would have to come several times to be able to view all exhibits. The layout of the place is lovely .
