“The Food and Staff Stand Out Here.”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

The hotel and rooms are what you would expect to find at a large brand chain; clean rooms, decent size with good facilities.

The thing that makes this hotel stand out and the reason for my score is the staff and food. I have stayed here several times and not once have an encountered a member of staff who is not friendly, polite and willing to help.

The crowning glory for this hotel is the food; we have all stayed at hotels and been served luke warm microwave burgers and warm chips but the food at the hotel is restaurant quality. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed with a meal and the choice and home cooked menu is something that I now regularly look forward to.

6 of us stayed, all 3 rooms excellent. What made this staff so good was the excellent customer service. Staff were very helpful. The restaurant staff were as good as any top class restaurants no matter who or what day. Food choice excellent, served hot and freshly cooked by efficient staff. Located next to park & ride which ran until late a night.

We've always been happy with the Holiday Inn but this was the best yet! Look forward to our next visit.

A good hotel that we would use again. Stayed two nights in an executive room as a get away from the kids! Bathroom was a little tired and old but they are allegedly being done shortly. Still very clean and more than servicable, but a few cracked tiles on the floor showed it up a little. It cost you the last star on my rating! Room very clean with nice big tv in hd and a good selection of films. Room service was fine. Nothing outstanding but good enough non the less. Asked for more pillows and arrived within 10 minutes. Bed a bit too soft.

Breakfast on the Friday excellent however Saturday was a little manic, but it was Easter weekend. Whilst I appreciate that many people arrived at the same time we saw 7 tables empty and another two that needed clearing whilst we and a number of others queued outside. Food and selection was good and quality was fine. Restaurant manager did bother to come over and apologise later which he didn't have to and asked if all was ok. It was an appreciated gesture.

The hotel was all very clean and corridors looked like maintenance was top notch. No complaints here.

Wife had a facial at the spa which she said was very good and a reasonable price.

Location excellent for the park and ride straight into town. £4.50 for two return and takes about 10-15mins.

Main point worth mentioning is the staff who I thought were excellent. Reception on arrival very polite and quick. When we asked later about buses and location of the theatre to the bus stop the gentleman looked on the computer and explained how close they were to each other. Breakfast room staff attentative and quick to please when we asked for more pastries. On check out we pointed out a couple of minor issues about the breakfast that morning and the slightly tired bathroom and they knocked a little off the bill which was extremely generous, not expected and a nice little touch that made us feel that they actually did value their customers. Only small things i point out that you should in theory expect from any hotel, however, there are too many places that don't achieve the basics. Having stayed in many a hotel it is really noticeable when you see training has been done properly and the management have got it right!

Overall excellent staff that presented a professional outfit, good hotel, food all good and we will certainly be back for another getaway in October. Thank you.

Three generations of us stayed here at half term and we all had a great time. The oldest 64, the youngest 3. All well catered for by an attentive staff who made the children (8,6 and 3) very welcome and relaxed. It can often be fraught travelling with little ones, but with a great pool and gym, good range of meal choices and the big hit with the children the breakfast pancake making machine! we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
Plenty of parking and the bus to Oxford stops pretty much outside. Another big thrill for the little ones, upstairs at the front of a double decker bus!!

Although not in the centre of Oxford, was well accessible by car and had all what I needed for a one night stay to visit friends. Bar and Restaurant offereing were very good and service from the staff was great as well.

We have just arrived home after a fantastic long easter weekend at The Holiday Inn Oxford. We were originally going to stay at the Randolph in Central Oxford but decided this was rather expensive for just a room (£500p/n) we are certainly pleased with our decision as there was some not so pleasant scaffolding surrounding the "luxurious 5star classic hotel". Overall our stay at the Holiday Inn Oxford was superb. The location is great especially for the attractions of Bicester village (20mins) and Blenheim Palace (35mins). We would strongly recommend a visit to the Trout Inn located about 10mins from the hotel; fantastic ambience, food, location and price. There is a Starbucks in the hotel which went down a treat. The breakfast was fantastic and our room was very spacious with a huge television. The icing on the cake was the free use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna in the hotel. Staff we're very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be coming back!

Three night stay for a family wedding in Oxford. Friendly welcoming check in, apart from wanting to charge £16 a day for Internet after some debate this was given free, thank you. Room comfortable although bed not the greatest bit hard. Dined there two nights fairly standard selection and by enlarge reasonable value, couple of issues sorted by team. Breakfast was buffet style but good selection and regularly topped up so hot and fresh. Leisure club great just wish they would supervise to stop rowdy children messing around as parents don't seem to. Saturday night lot of noise from rooms next door and above, mentioned to staff on checkout took £50 of the bill all very professional, would be happy to return there.
