Recently stayed here for one night with friends. Hotel staff friendly but room disappointing. Would be a nice touch to have a bottle of complimentary water which wouldn't be too expensive to introduce and assists guests when there is no mini-bar.

Last stayed some years ago. Like then, we had a room at the very end of the building but very quiet and well appointed with two easy chairs (some hotels only give you one) and a safe. Only downside - only one bedside light so had to move table light across later in the evening. Why is it that so many hotels seem to stint on the lighting levels? Did not use dining or spa (though, from memory, pool very good by most hotel standards). Would stay a third time - free parking a real bonus. City centre really is within a reasonable walking distance but lots of buses go down the Abingdon Road.

We stayed here for a weekend away in Oxford. It's walking distance from the city centre which was a big plus, and the 3 course meal included in our stay was well worth it. The breakfast was usual chain hotel bad standard, which no options for someone lactose intolerant, but I'd still stay here again.

We spent three nights here in a ground floor room in the Eastwyke annex, a stone house close to the hotel and with the advantage of parking right outside the room. In better weather it has its own garden to enjoy. The room was very large, effectively a lounge and bedroom combined, and very comfortable with everything of very high quality. The heating came on quickly and rapidly heated the room. The bath was amazing filling in no more than a minute. A nice touch was a dim orange light in the bathroom meaning you didn't need to turn on the light at night and disturb your partner. The biscuits and bars of chocolate in the room were much appreciated, as was the free Wifi. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide range of hot food, cerials, cakes and bread, let down only by a poor cold selection. There are buses every few minutes from outside the hotel to central Oxford which take about 5 minutes. The walk to the bus is about 150 yards.. Ideal and we would go back without hesitation.

Large, busy but very comfortable hotel and wonderful service from welcoming, friendly but attentive staff.

Easy, level walk into the centre including a meandering walk along the river if you prefer, but watch out for bikes on the towpath!

Great breakfasts with really good quality produce but go early if you prefer a quiet start!

The set Table d'Hote menu had plenty of choice and the starters and main courses are inventive enough for everyone, though the rib eye steak at £5.50 extra isn't reliably better quality, if you order it rare, for the extra charge...

The B, B and evening meal 'Autumn deal' was perfect for a long week-end break for my mum's 80th birthday. Ask for a quiet room [127 to 141] overlooking the meadow as the hotel hosts functions on Friday and Saturday nights, but it's big enough to cope and they don't intrude.

Lots of fire doors to the corridors which could benefit from magnetic hold-open catches.

Beds very comfy and rooms very clean and a good size. The decoration was freshly done and elegant- lovely thick carpet in the corridorst! Plenty of hot water to the ensuite but they would benefit from thermostatic valves on mixer taps to save the plentiful supply of very hot water which they've had to post warnings about!

Enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back without any hesitation.
Thank you!

Room Tip: Quiet rooms on the south side overlooking the meadow.

Location great, pool lovely, staff helpful but rooms in need of updating & quality of breakfast very poor. A typical 1980's hotel with very thin walls meaning nosie transmits too easily. Breakfast appeared to be very popular with majoirty of guests but was luke warm & poor quality. The coffee was undrinkable.

Easily the worst stay at a hotel I have ever had. Had too leave early and go to another hotel. Rude staff on reception, a member of staff who told me to "get out of the way". Dirty bedrooms. Absolutle waste of money.

Room Tip: Dont stay here! Simple.
