“Lovely Hotel”

Girly spa weekend. Was a bit worried about some of the reviews. However, check in was quick, and friendly. Staff were all very willing to be of assistance, offer guidance etc. Spa treatments were very nice, pool was a little small and busy in the afternoons, but nothing unexpected. We had some very fussy eaters in our group with diverse dietry requirements. The meals were included in our package and we were really pleased with the choice and quality of food. Staff were very willing to help and all dietry requirements were met with no fuss.
Very close to the centre of Oxford, perfect!
We had a great time and would not hesitate to come here again.

Room Tip: Rooms are a bit of a maze to get to, but cut through the courtyard at the back of reception instead...

Went for a weekend away to Oxford and chose the Oxford Spires. Was convenient for the City Centre and the colleges, which was exactly what we wanted it for.
Rooms were standard, similar to that of a Premier Inn, and could not complain that there was not enough tea and coffee available, and the tea tray was full.
No disturbances during the evening with people moving about through the hotel, or from the road either.
Breakfast was great in the morning, lots of choice of cooked/continental and lots of pastries also.
Also swimming pool and spa located next door which is free for hotel guests to use. This was a nice change, and there were adequate facilities available. Towels were provided in there.
During our stay as well, there were problems with the water supply on our last day. This was not the hotels fault, as it was a widespread problem across Oxford and the water had to be turned off in the entire area. The hotel kept all guests up to date with notes through doors very early in the morning and it was ressolved within a few hours.
For a trip to Oxford for the weekend, this hotel was great. Good location and standard for all requirements.

What is expected from a large modern hotel chain. We did not eat at the hotel but walked into the City centre which is approx 20 mins part of which can be on the river path which is accessed direct from the hotel. No nasty surprises and served our purpose of a comfortable room for the night.

Recently stayed here for one night with friends. Hotel staff friendly but room disappointing. Would be a nice touch to have a bottle of complimentary water which wouldn't be too expensive to introduce and assists guests when there is no mini-bar.

Last stayed some years ago. Like then, we had a room at the very end of the building but very quiet and well appointed with two easy chairs (some hotels only give you one) and a safe. Only downside - only one bedside light so had to move table light across later in the evening. Why is it that so many hotels seem to stint on the lighting levels? Did not use dining or spa (though, from memory, pool very good by most hotel standards). Would stay a third time - free parking a real bonus. City centre really is within a reasonable walking distance but lots of buses go down the Abingdon Road.

We stayed here for a weekend away in Oxford. It's walking distance from the city centre which was a big plus, and the 3 course meal included in our stay was well worth it. The breakfast was usual chain hotel bad standard, which no options for someone lactose intolerant, but I'd still stay here again.

We spent three nights here in a ground floor room in the Eastwyke annex, a stone house close to the hotel and with the advantage of parking right outside the room. In better weather it has its own garden to enjoy. The room was very large, effectively a lounge and bedroom combined, and very comfortable with everything of very high quality. The heating came on quickly and rapidly heated the room. The bath was amazing filling in no more than a minute. A nice touch was a dim orange light in the bathroom meaning you didn't need to turn on the light at night and disturb your partner. The biscuits and bars of chocolate in the room were much appreciated, as was the free Wifi. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide range of hot food, cerials, cakes and bread, let down only by a poor cold selection. There are buses every few minutes from outside the hotel to central Oxford which take about 5 minutes. The walk to the bus is about 150 yards.. Ideal and we would go back without hesitation.
